I think just on the website. The artist did not start working for the magazine until the year 2000, I think.

Of course, Heartbreaker sound more like a Pat Benatar moniker. Yes- Bandit and a Heartbreaker and Jesus Was a Crossmaker being the same song. As far as I know, Linda is the only singer among many who have recorded that to remove the reference to Jesus and change the song title. Here are the current names and required number of posts for each category: How might these be improved? Or should they be jettisoned?

I want to advise users of this forum to not click on links provided by guest posters until they have been checked out and verified.
Recently I have had to delete several links that are totally unrelated to this website. They usually have a vague message to entice you.
For instance, just now I removed a post from guest Lula saying she just found this interesting blog and provided a link.
It is best to ignore links from guest posters.

My fault. I changed the designations yesterday. They are still Ronstadt-related. The new designations are
Hobo A Number and A Name Desperado The Fast One Blowing Away King of Bohemia Different Drummer The Tattler King of Bohemia Dear Companion Bandit Heartbreaker Crossmaker
Crossmaker was a bit of a stretch, based on the original name of the song Bandit and a Heartbreaker. Trouble is, most people here fell in the Crossmaker section. I removed that designation.

As fate would have it, the one thing I don't need is paper products. The only thing I buy from Walmart is paper towels and toilet paper, and I hate going to that store with a passion. So when I do go, I fill up my buggy (or cart as you non-Southerners call it). Of course it only takes two packs of towels to fill up the cart, and then when you put two packs of toilet paper on top of that it's a full load. I haven't needed to replenish during this coronavirus debacle.

Here in the Dirty South, I expect bread and milk to be cleared of the grocery aisles when we might expect a dusting of snow, but I have never in my life seen the grocery stores picked clean like they are now. I buy groceries almost daily, just getting what I need for the next couple of days. The only thing available was the freshly sliced deli meats. Thank goodness for Boars Head!

I've listened to her music and some of her songs are okay, but I have not found anything compelling in her voice that makes me look forward to new music. I prefer Stone Me of the two tunes presented her, maybe because I heard it on the radio a few times.

Boss, I don't think Zevon was on SP. Well, musician credits for Silk Purse are hard to find. But I have always been under the impression that he was one of the "Beechwood Rangers" that join Linda on Life is Like a Mountain Railway, the Beechwood Rangers being her Beachwood Canyon neighbors. I don't think the Beechwood Rangers were a real group, since that name has never appeared on any other recording. However, a little research shows I might be wrong. One source shows the Beechwood Rangers as being Russ Giguere, Bill Martin, and Warren Zevon. But according to Rodney Dillard, the Beechwood Rangers was him, Herb Pederson, Bernie Leadon, and Harry Dean Stanton. Somehow this seems more plausible.

I think Linda worked with Warren Zevon in the very early years. Did he not do some vocals on the Silk Purse album?
But you are correct-- she didn't seem to really know him very well.
I was very surprised that the tribute album Enjoy Every Sandwich: The Songs of Warren Zevon did not have a song sung by Linda Ronstadt.
But even more surprising was the biography by x-wife Crystal Zevon never mentioned Linda Ronstadt even once. Surprising because she sang on his albums often and many think it was her versions of his songs that led to his discovery by the masses.

I have this on pre-order so I hope my copy arrives today.
Her first album, 12 Stories, is still my favorite album of the decade. I liked all 12 stories. So of course I was disappointed in her 2nd album. This is her 3rd, not counting that live Record Store Day release, but it is a rare album these days that I still listen to for years, like I do with 12 Stories.

I think sometime in the future I should email Peter Asher and see what he thinks of a Record Store Day release of Keeping Out of Mischief. Then again, that might not be a good idea since it was the only Ronstadt album of the 1980s that he did not produce.
Interesting side note: I have emailed about 5 different Sirius/XM personalities with simple questions. The only ones who responded to my emails were Peter Asher and Dave Marsh.

I have never heard Keeping Out of Mischief in what I would call quality audio. But as an album I find it far from fantastic. The earliest versions I heard were traded on cassette and the pitch seemed off. The record company should release this as a limited edition Record Store Day item. After all, the cover art has already been designed and even printed. They could put a label on the record notifying that this was unreleased because it wasn't very good. But that might be too much honesty.

By the way, I was Guest940. I was in a hurry to make it to a lunch date with friends. Thought I would be back soon but while enjoying my gyro I got a call that my aunt who lives an hour away had an accident and needed my help so I went and picked up my aunt and helped her get a rental car and got her home. (While we're waiting at the rental car agency, she wants to discuss what she heard from Sean Hannity and I told her if it was Sean Hannity it was bullshit and I didn't want to hear it but I digress.) Then she is to follow me to her house. I want to go left because my GPS says that her house is 10 minutes away, but she wants to go right because she doesn't trust my GPS and this is the way she knows and then we get caught in traffic on Woodruff Road and it takes 35 minutes to go one mile and it takes over an hour to get to her house but everything turned out okay and I had a great meal at On the Border.

This year's Grammys go from Oct. 1, 2018 to August 31, 2019. The movie was released on September 6th. So the movie is eligible for next year's Grammy's. I think the movie would have won this year had it been released a week earlier. Next year it may be forgotten unless someone pushed it for nomination. Plus it will be competing against new or upcoming documentaries on Taylor Swift, Tiny Tim, Mojo Nixon, and Billie Eilish.

I don't know about iTunes but on Amazon Linda is #1 seller in Latin category with Canciones de mi Padre. They have her categorized as #1 seller in Vocal Pop and Broadway with the Greatest Hits 1&2 CD.

Do we really need another Twitter account for Linda Ronstadt? Well, I started one anyway. Ronstadt! twitter accountThe main reason I started the account is because so often I see incorrect information about Linda Ronstadt or outright lies. So my intent is to correct misinformation. Yesterday I saw a post saying that Linda Ronstadt endorsed George McGovern. I believe that to be false. Besides, at that time, Linda was not famous enough that her endorsement would have mattered. A search of newspapers revealed no endorsements, no concerts. Since this is a new account, I have zero followers. If you are on twitter, please consider following the account.

There has been a resurgence of Ronstadt sales. Many titles are sold out except from third party sellers. No one seems to have anticipated the surge in sales, especially since the CNN airing of the Ronstadt documentary. Yes this would have been an ideal time to have had a "new" release available. Several titles have dropped off the chart because there are no copies left to be sold.

Here is my first draft of The Married Men reprocessed for stereo. I think it might need some more work, but the effect is dramatic with headphones. Still, I think Linda deserves to be heard in both ears. The Married Men, SNL May 1979- Linda and Phoebe

SPOILERS: I had never seen an episode of Ray Donovan before. I noticed an actor I like in the Desperado montage. I scanned through the episode, not familiar with the characters, so fast that I completely missed the scene where they mentioned the Linda Ronstadt. Then the actor I liked was gunned down in the street and died with blood gushing from his neck while the Jon Voight walked away to leave him to die. If you want to see the scene discussing Linda Ronstadt's Parkinson's, here it is: scene 4
