What a nice guy. Had no idea Brett Hudson was so down to Earth. Not sure how long he and Linda dated but he did mention her name on this clip.

Some dude named Tom: Not sure if someones already posted on this? Couldn't find it in this thread?
"What I have not forgotten was how that day played out. When I arrived, two others were already there, Steve’s partner Tom and Tom’s girlfriend. The girl was a stunner. She had the biggest eyes I had ever seen. She had a turned-up nose and long black bangs. For some reason, she looked familiar"
"In those days, she was officially Linda Marie Ronstadt. She was the key to the group. Her voice, then as now, was spectacular. The album covers featured her in the middle, because she was photogenic, although nowhere near what she was like in person, close-up".

Actually the Tom is Tom Campbell and Steve is Steve Gillette. Both famous song writers in their own right.

Jim Carrey’s Relationships
Canadian-American actor and comedian Jim Carrey’s relationships over the years.
Following the tragic death of actor and comedian Jim Carrey’s on-again, off-again girlfriend Cathriona White, a lot of readers have written to us wanting to know the women Jim Carrey has dated over the years.
It is based on this that in this post we have compiled a list of all the women Carrey has been in relationships with over the years. This list includes all the women that have entered into Carrey’s life since rising to fame stand-up comedian in the 1980s. What we shall not include in this list are women who Carrey was rumored to have hooked-up with. We really don’t like to deal with rumors. So without any further ado, let us look at all the confirmed relationships of Carrey.
Jim Carrey’s Relationships
Jim Carrey and Linda Ronstadt: In 1983, the same year Carrey made his stand-up debut on The Tonight Show, he and singer Linda Ronstadt began dating. Their relationship lasted for only 8 months. Carrey and Ronstadt met for the first time at The Comedy Stores in Los Angeles. Ronstadt was at the The Comedy Stores looking for an opening act for her tour. Carrey said in an interview he had on The Howard Stern Show that Ronstadt asked him if he would open for her. He said he answered with a big NO but said he would accompany her on her tour if she wanted him to do that. Ronstadt agreed and so Carrey went with her. This was the beginning of their 8-month relationship.
At that time Ronstadt was in her mid thirties whereas Carrey was just 21 and living with his parents. According to Carrey, Ronstadt was an incredible woman who didn’t mind that he was poor and living with his parents. He said he was really infatuated with her but he knew the relationship was not going to last long. He said Ronstadt was also aware of that. Eventually, after 8 months together, their relationship ended and they both went their separate ways. Ronstadt went on to become one of the world’s best-selling artists of all time having sold over 100 million records.

The thought of Linda Ronstadt and Mick Jagger is revolting. I can not bring myself to believe that had a fling.

An Old News Item from 1990Harrisburg Daily Register September 15 1990, Harrisburg, Illinois From Chicago Tribune, 1990 - RONSTADT TAKING THE PLUNGE? People magazine reports that Linda Ronstadt and Quint Davis, a New Orleans entertainment exec, will be making beautiful music together. Expect a wedding at Christmastime, People says. People Magazine, 1990 - Ronstadt & Davis The women portrayed in her 1987 Songs of My Father LP, she said, “don’t defer to men. They just don’t compete with them.” Nor did Linda Ronstadt herself compete, in past relationships with California’s then Gov. Jerry Brown and with producer George Lucas. But things may change now that she’s dating someone in the music business, New Orleans impresario Quint Davis, producer of the city’s annual Jazz and Heritage Festival. Davis, the son of a prominent architect, plays on his reputation as an iconoclastic loner. Still, says a friend, he and Ronstadt “are wild for each other. She has flown in on her private plane to see him.” They’ve even been seen strolling hand in hand through the French Quarter. Davis has forbidden his family and friends to discuss the relationship and denies rumors that Linda has bought a Garden District manse. On March 18 Ronstadt arrived late for a fund-raiser for the city’s homeless and, after a duet with Aaron Neville, skipped out—without Quint. Was that because, as rumored, she and Davis are on the outs? Linda will never tell. “I’m real happy to talk about the music,” she has said, “but that other stuff is just what happens to you.” Nola.com, 2009 article about Quint Davis - He moves among music's elite. He counts Paul Simon and Jimmy Buffett as friends and he has dated Linda Ronstadt. Wonder why they never got married, she didn't mention him in her book.

Quote by germancanadian:
One must always keep in mind that Linda's book was a "musical memoir"; it wasn't a kiss-and-tell thing. As for not getting married...well, I think she was already married, to her music.

Never heard of Linda owning a plane or having a pilot's license or someone who could fly a plane for her. Still, I could see Linda renting a plane and hiring a pilot to fly anywhere she wanted to go and avoiding the crowded airports and fans.

After reading all these posts some conclusions are obvious. This guy was a business man who was seen with Linda in 73/74 and there have been several other sightings over the years. Probably a lot more than we know by people who have never heard of this site.Rick Norton in no way resembles the man were looking for. Someone wrote of a sighting in Las Vegas and the way they both acted together, particularly how he treated her, and that description should make us all smile that she has had someone for nearly 45 years. The special someone that most of us have had in our lives. Hopefully. Don't think I really want to know who this man is but he must be really special if he has been with Linda for so many years. Maybe just friends, maybe lovers maybe both. Nice knowing that she has had a soulmate all these years.

Maybe just friends, maybe lovers maybe both. Nice knowing that she has had a soulmate all these years. Suppose it's a case of the names have been changed to...keep anyone from finding out? And that Richard is just a red herring designed to throw everyone off? The only man Linda acknowledged that she was going to marry was George Lucas, saying she had the engagement ring and all. But, they never married. If it had been someone who was with Linda from the early 70s, my guess would be John Boylan. He's still with her today. And it could be they've had their off and on moments, where they break away from each other but can't bear to be apart from each other for too long of a period. J.D. Souther may be another possible. And one thing I would keep in mind is that many men may have claimed they were dating her, when in fact they were not. The rumor about Linda marrying a New Orleans businessman sounds similar to a claim by an Alabama woman who claimed in 1975 that she and Elvis Presley were going to wed. The woman even went so far as to publish an announcement in her local newspaper about her upcoming wedding. The pending event came as news to Elvis and he made it clear he wasn't about to get married at the time. Linda dated several men throughout her celebrity life and if there was someone in the background no one knew about, imagine how he must've felt seeing Linda date all these other men while he had to remain in the background being the real love. He would had to have been just about the most secure man in the world, being in that kind of an open relationship. I couldn't see Linda doing that to any man.

I don't know how she worded it exactly nor do I recall the exact interview but it was from a recent video interview when the subject of her "sex symbol" status was mentioned and how a lot of men were in love with her, by the interviewer, Linda's response was somewhat dismissive (kind of how she dismisses her talent) that nobody was ever in love with her (and she was pretty adamant with her statement).. I found that to be quite sad actually and what did she mean by that?

Don't ruin our fantasy slide (if that's what it is) lol. We want somewhat happy endings here. The happy ending for me would be a cure for Linda's illnesses. If Linda has someone (besides her children) in the background we don't know about who brings her much happiness and joy, that would be wonderful. But, I know she spoke of raising her two kids without a man being around and she was okay with that. However, if there was anyone who could've zealously guarded her privacy, it's Linda. So, it wouldn't surprise if Linda has had someone all these years and it was someone we didn't know and we were never the wiser.

I found that to be quite sad actually and what did she mean by that? The Marilyn Monroe or Elvis Presley effect. Men loved Linda Ronstadt the celebrity, but not Linda Ronstadt the human being. She once said she wished her sex life was as good as a Snickers bar. Who knows how many time she was hurt by men who loved her image but not her? That's a hurt that would've taken a long time to get over, and it would've made her all the more guarded the next time a man expressed interest in her. She had her faults as well, it may have been difficult for some men to get past her faults. Maybe disagreements over little things and worries that if a relationship that led to marriage and it didn't work out, men could also sue for community property as well. I remember Linda telling Rolling Stone any man she dated had to have about $50 million in the bank because she thought she wouldn't have anything in common with someone who made less. That, however, may have been a lie Linda told as part of her public persona. When Linda dated Jim Carrey, one thing he was not was someone who was worth $50 million at the time. It may be Linda was let down by love too many times and she just gave up. And it may be another reason "Simple Dreams" didn't have anything about her relationships is that she didn't want to relive those heartaches.

The earliest sighting we know about is from 73'/74' in Worchester ? which seems like a very credible post. Sightings also from Frankfurt and most recently in Las Vegas. I think its safe to conclude that this relationship spans more the 40 years. Given the secrecy of the relationship and the way Linda has managed to keep it completely private I think a reasonable assumption is that this gentleman, Rick, was her true life's love. No purpose in speculating why they never married but do think that Linda was so laser focused on her career as it was taking off in the 70's that a marriage would not have been a priority of hers. Based on where some of there sightings have been I think its safe to assume that Rick was a man of some means and could make the time to meet with Linda.I am curious as to who this person is but you have to respect Linda for wanting this intimate part of her life to be kept private. Like others have said I am really happy for her for having someone who she has loved and who has loved her for more than 40 years. The last sighting of her in Las Vegas and the way it was described that he touched her face and kissed her was so beautiful. Lucky woman in so many ways.

They confused Linda with George's actual wife. Linda came in between her and Melody. It is difficult to find out much about Linda's personal life from 1980 on (until she adopted). I call them the missing decade or "the Living Years." If she wrote about that time period it would be a best seller and a movie. Possibly a tv mini-series lol. I would call it "Blue By You, Blue By Me: The Linda Ronstadt Story"

Just consolidating stuff as I re-discover it:Chip Carter crushes on Linda Ronstadt May 30, 2016 at 8:37am Quote
Post by devoboy on May 30, 2016 at 8:37am I used to not believe the Chip Carter affair until I read an interview from Chip Carter done by Bob Short in 2008. It is even available on youtube. It is from 2008, and Chip Carter talks mostly about politics, but near the end, he talks of the fun he had when he was separated from his wife. He said, "so that was kind of difficult(talking about no privacy) but I dated some interesting - - I dated Linda Ronstadt for a year or more. Still see her occasionally, you know we're close friends and I had girlfriends all over the country. I had a blast. I was a single kid at the time." Unless you think he's making it up, but he convinced me. I figure the year was 1977. After the split from Albert Brooks. 1977 could also been the first year she began dating Jerry Brown. Only she and them would really know.
The Mick Jagger affair is tough to figure out- Linda has denied it in at least 2 separate interviews. She denied dating Jerry Brown for as long as she could. Who blames her, the press was hounding her at this time. But she also has that quote saying, something like, "If I was married to Jerry Brown, then I couldn't meet Mick Jagger in Mexico". That doesn't mean she did, but the quote is out there in the public. There is a book called "Mick: The Wild Life and Mad Genius of Jagger". By Christopher Anderson.
In that book, it is stated that Bianca flew to Ronstadt's ocean-front home, and confronted Mick, "effectively bringing and end to the affair." Anderson doesn't have the best reputation-he has done several unauthorized biographies. Soooooo, what do you think? I believe the Chip Carter affair, I just can't tell on the Mick Jagger.

Linda Ronstadt Love Mar 5, 2016 at 7:29am Quote
Post by devoboy on Mar 5, 2016 at 7:29am I am trying to figure out when(or even if) Linda dated Jackson Browne. I see info in several books, but no real confirmation ever. Brown was married from 71-76 to Phyllis Major. If it was in the mid 70's, it would have to be after JD Souther (71-72?) Lowell George (73), and before Albert Brooks (76-77). They knew each other starting way back in the 60's, so I wonder if it way before JD Souther anyway. Was Rick Norton around 1976 too? Just wondering if someone has info.

A careful read of these many posts shows that Linda and Rick have been an item for over 40 years and many of the sightings over those years have confirmed what can only be described as an intimate, caring and loving relationship. Given that this has been kept from the public eye for so many years indicates that both Rick and Linda intend to keep the relationship out of the public domain forever. The sightings that have been posted are a slight peek into her personal life and I assume there are other sightings of them. Maybe some others will come forward with additional info. I totally agree with a couple of the sentiments (and frankly hopes) that Linda has had a love of her life hidden away from her fans. Most of us only want the best for her and my hope is that Rick can be by her side in these difficult times she is going through. Sounds like a real Love Story. We should all be so lucky.

Welcome to the forum!!!! Abby is a very pretty name (sorry my punctuation keys not working this am). It is weird as they will come back as they wake up this Sunday morning. It is unbelievable that if she has had a 40 yr relationship with this Rick that they were able to mostly keep it under the radar. Also, did they take breaks in relationship while she was dating other people. Not that it is my business but just curious if others have info or thoughts. eddiejinnj
PS: See they came back. No scientific reason I can think of. Computer was running; so it was warmed up.

For my Mom & Dad's 15th anniversary my mom got tickets to see George Jones at the Bottom Line in New York. This was June 6, 981. My dad was born in Tx. and was a huge Jones fan. The show also had Linda Ronstadt and my mom always said it was a good thing she was there as Jones was a bit inebriated. Towards the end of the show this stunning woman (my mom's words) walked in with an extremely handsome well dressed man and were seated at a front table. My dad saw them also and told mom that the lady was Emmylou Harris. The show ended shortly thereafter and about 10 minutes later Linda came out from the back to the table with Emmylou. According to mom she went right about to the man, said "Rick you came" and gave him something more than a friendly kiss. They were there only 5 minutes more but mom said there was no mistaking that there was something between Linda and Rick. More than just good friends. All 3 left together. Mom said the man was definitely a New Yorker. So, this may answer the question about Emmylou knowing who this Rick man was/is.

What a cool audio clip of the Bottom Line show! I still miss that club and wish I had caught the show with Linda and George Jones that night. More than likely, we'll find out the identity of the Whisteblower before we uncover who this mysterious Rick is. There's more than one person playing "Possum..."
