Linda's dynamite guitars-powered version of "That'll Be the Day" beats out Buddy Holly's original but her version of Holly's "It's So Easy" just annoys the hell out of me. Not as good as Buddy's. (And I'm a fan of Buddy's music.). I agree. That'll Be The Day is great. I really dislike her version of It's So Easy. She sounds really tired and bored to me. I don't get it. Really? I sort of get why you don't like "It's so Easy" but whenever Linda uses that throaty vocal, I don't know what term to use for it, where she's hard on her throat, that turns me on....so I have to say I like her version quite a bit. I hope I explain that correctly, what do you call that? However "That'll Be the Day" seems kind of unemotional to me- to each their own, I suppose.

Does anyone know if Linda ever responds to mail? Does she have an address or PO number? I would like to give her encouragement.

I know she appeared at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids,MI. in 1974. I only know this because I was in high school trying to decide where to go to college the next year, and Aquinas sent me their monthly newspaper reviewing the concert. I decided to go to Aquinas partly because they were cool enough to get Linda Ronstadt. The review of her concert was positive- I wish I would have kept it.

I am trying to figure out when(or even if) Linda dated Jackson Browne. I see info in several books, but no real confirmation ever. Brown was married from 71-76 to Phyllis Major. If it was in the mid 70's, it would have to be after JD Souther (71-72?) Lowell George (73), and before Albert Brooks (76-77). They knew each other starting way back in the 60's, so I wonder if it way before JD Souther anyway. Was Rick Norton around 1976 too? Just wondering if someone has info.
