That's good to hear. She needs more love over in the UK. eddiejinnj Definitely. In her glory years, Linda was up against a lot of UK pop, which was good then, and ABBA, Queen & Bee Gees. Linda was always classified as Country & Western here, no matter what she sang. Only retrospective magazines later had interviews & articles with & about her. Our music rags were awful to Linda, insulting and demeaning. Only Country Music People gave Linda the recognition she deserved.

Spent about the same amount of time on the road today and heard these songs on Sirius/XM:
Mental Revenge Bakersfield Heat Wave '70s Get Closer '80s When Will I Be Loved '70s
At first I thought the '80s station might have added Linda to the rotation, but that was not the case. They were doing the Top 40 countdown, and since Linda was in the countdown, she got heard.

I continue to hear a lot of Linda on satellite radio.
Yesterday I heard Long Long Time on the '70s station... haven't heard them play that in years. Today heard You're No Good on the same station, in a strange segue following Rhiannon.
Of course, on the Yoakam station I have heard Simple Man Simple Dream, I Will Always Love You, I'll Be Your Baby Tonight, I Fall to Pieces, Poor Poor Pitiful Me, and several others.
I don't recall the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame station playing anything of Linda's in about a year. But yesterday on This Day in Rock History, they mentioned that her album Living in the USA reached #1 on this day in 1978, her 3rd and final chart topper.
No hits played on the '80s station.
Yes, I've been spending a lot of time on the road recently.

I remember hoping that the song would do better than the 30's on the list. I can't recall if I heard it on the radio. I know I heard "Get Closer" quite a bit. Did "Easy for You to Say" make the hot 100 or just the Adult Contemporary which it did pretty well? eddiejinfl

Linda was tie with Whitney with 3 Number One albums until I think it was Whitney's last album that went Number One its first week and dropped. It is reverse now because so many people can get a new release in so many forms day of release vs old days where radio play and print periodicals got word out logically more slowly than high speed internet. One had to find a record store generally too though most general dept stores had records just not the variety. eddiejinfl

During Linda's "imperial phase" (ending with Mad Love), Streisand and Carole King also had three #1 albums each. Streisand currently leads Billboard Top 200 women with 11 #1 albums.

I have taken a long break from any social media but I haven’t taken a break from listening to Linda! Amazon has both ! The one that is not based on my listening has been playing some Linda, not as much as they could, but some.
