All that's missing are the 1969-70 hoop earrings (LOL): www.instyle.com/selena-gomez-linda-ronstadt-new-bangs-8558513As for Linda's appearance on Dick Cavett's Show (from November 13, 1970), to my knowledge the only parts of it that we know of are what was shown in The Sound Of My Voice. I haven't seen the full interview anywhere on YouTube. Not on YouTube but the full episode comes up on some streaming services including Trakt.

....seriously....with Linda's "friends" at the helm....I feel even stronger that this "project" is going to encapsulate the essence of Linda and her "message"...and I say there will be alot that somehow "comes thru" in support of her political/personal/cultural/relational "stance" in life...I say she's gonna communicate that direction to the end
.......and I really hope she does!

Selena Gomez was the guest on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Friday night (2/23/24). I didn’t pay attention to Jimmy’s “game” asking questions about Selena Gomez to Selena Gomez and a superfan of Selena Gomez (the superfan won the game). But in her sitdown interview with Kimmel the topic of the Linda biopic was not mentioned. Kimmel asked her which musical artist had the biggest influence on her and she answered Kurt Cobain. She promoted her reboot of “The Wizards of Waverly Place,” her new single, how many Instagram followers she has, and “Only Murders in the Building.” These days “talk” shows are very much managed and I think if Selena Gomez’s publicity people wanted her to talk about the Linda biopic, it would have been listed on Kimmel’s notecards as something to mention in the segment. Truth be told, I don’t find her interesting. But I guess she is an “IT” girl of this moment and maybe that will bring eyeballs to the screen to watch a Linda biopic.

To say I am disappointed is an understatement. It would seem then that Selena views this as a good opportunity for exposure but is not as passionate about the subject matter as one would believe, imo. I think we need a person to portray her that gets her like a number of people here talk of Linda fans.

I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt that Selena is not at liberty yet to discuss the biopic. Aside from that, I never got the impression that she was a huge fan of Linda's music to begin with. Someone like Kelly Clarkson grew up listening to Linda, and has sung many of her songs on her talk show. I even thought of Rachel Zegler as a possibility for the biopic. But, it's definitely not up to us and I'm trying to remain hopeful.

It would be great to have Kelly if she could look just a little more like her without major makeup work. She has more of Linda's essence, imo, though I have to say I don't know a lot about Gomez. All have a great day!!!

Kelly might have been able to do this (if they darken her hair just a touch), but in my opinion she would have needed to tamp down the tendency she had had on her own recordings to virtually scream at the top of her lungs, something that Linda rarely ever did even when she rocked her hardest during her 1980 Mad Love phase.
Rachel was always my first choice, not only because of her for-the-ages performance of Maria in West Side Story, but also for her role as itinerant mountain folk singer Lucy Gray Baird in The Ballad Of Songs And Snakes.
With all that said, given that Linda put her stamp of approval on the project and having Selena cast, I again am willing to see how all this plays out. And although I don't know if I can confirm this, I had heard that Selena's gal pal Taylor Swift has said that she's happy for her getting this role.
Clearly this is a strange business...but it's fun, in its own weird way.

I know this kind of nitpicky, but Selena has sort of a deep speaking voice, very unlike Linda's. It will lose something for me it she doesn't get the rapid speech pattern down because that's one of Linda's most endearing qualities.

As Linda would say, she's got a lot of woodshedding to do.

In all good honesty, I think Selena knows what she's stepping into, and more importantly whose shoes she's stepping into. Nothing in either her film, TV, or music career could really prepare her for this intimidating a role, that of an all-time iconic figure in American pop music in Linda. That said, however, I don't think she'd go into this without knowing what she was facing, and, above all else, without Linda's own approval of her. But the less pressure she gets from her detractors, the better I think the end film will be.

I agree that the less detractors the more Selena can maybe relax and ease into the role. I think that it will also take her to really do her own research and take the time to prepare for such a role.

If Selena is studious enough, and I think she is, she will do a deep dive into not only the influences of Linda's childhood, Mexican and Anglo alike, but also Linda's place in a vibrant California-based folk-rock and country-rock scene whose sounds she helped to cultivate into a winning legacy. You want to try to get as much as you can from Linda's vibrant life into a well-structured biopic.
In and of itself, this is arguably alien territory for Selena, but I can't hold it against her. After all, as we've seen recently (with 16 year-old Ruby Leigh doing "Long Long Time" on The Voice), younger artists, the Gen-Z's and the Millennials are beginning to know about Linda while she's still breathing; and I think Selena will accelerate that trend. It's now only a matter of getting the film made and then out in the cineplexes.

I contacted someone at Vulture about this, but doubt if it will be corrected. I don't think it's purposeful, but it's really sloppy editing.

I just looked at it and it still there. I don't understand how the correct way is used so many times and the one slip up. There are harder names than "Ronstadt". I think we all will never understand the typos. eddiejinfl

".......I know too much about her at this point.”
...well there ya go,,,,tells ya she's totally immersed
I'm gonna say its Linda saying no talking about anything till its in the can.....not Selena's perceived want 4 trying fail.....
