Yes, the soundtrack was released sometime in 81’ I believe. I never bought that one on vinyl. I look for it in the bins. The movie bombed and no soundtrack (if one was recorded) was released. AGAIN, my bad. I mistook the Broadway soundtrack for the movie soundtrack.

If you bought the movie DVD, perhaps the soundtrack could be ripped from it?

The original Broadway soundtrack is all you really need. After all, as Linda once said "Everywhere you go, there's a soundtrack. You can't really quite hear it. It's just a little out of range of hearing."

From 1981, an "I Love New York" TV commercial -- it features "Pirates of Penzance" (with Karla DeVito and Robby Benson among the cast by this time) at about 51 seconds in --
Karla DeVito posted in the comments section.

I remember that Golden Girls episode. It was so cute. Also, the pic of Linda and Rex out at night is absolutely gorgeous. eddiejinnj

That video is an awesome find. By the way Linda is in the fabulous Museum of Broadway that just opened on West 45th street in NYC. Great to see the poster hanging in there along with Kevin Kline’s pirate costume.

Good God, I was such an idiot. I never knew one could hang around the stage door after a show just waiting to catch a glimpse of my favorite singer, let alone speak to her or ask for an autograph. I wish I knew better at 18 years old.

I was 18 when I saw the show which was a HS grad gift from my GF's Mom. I think her mom went if I remember right? Probably why I didn't think of looking for back door to theater. Not sure I had confidence to do that. The two of us before that (1980) did get to the Mad Love show in the afternoon and hung out and watched Linda's busses in the parking lot. eddiejinfl
