Another new Monkees album will be released next month: the Monkees' first ever Christmas album, "Christmas Party." And like 2016's reunion album "Good Times," 2018's "Christmas Party" will feature lead vocals from all four Monkees. The late Davy Jones is represented by two songs from the past with new instrumentation. Michael Nesmith is featured on two songs, "The Christmas Song," produced by his oldest son, Christian Nesmith, and "Snowfall," produced by Jonathan Nesmith. In the 1980s, just before the Monkees' comeback reunion began, a magazine writing of the upcoming reunion tour wrote that the Grateful Dead song with the line "what a long, strange trip's been," could apply just as much to the Monkees as to the Grateful Dead. And that trip has been one of the longest trips ever. www.rhino.com/article/the-monkees-to-release-christmas-party-their-first-ever-holiday-album

The Target edition of the CD will include the song plus 1967's "Riu Chiu," which featured all four Monkees singing acapella.
