Do they know its Christmas by Band Aid
It's Christmas time There's no need to be afraid At Christmas time We let in light and we banish shade And in our world of plenty We can spread a smile of joy Throw your arms around the world At Christmas time
But say a prayer Pray for the other ones At Christmas time it's hard But when you're having fun There's a world outside your window And it's a world of dread and fear Where the only water flowing Is the bitter sting of tears And the Christmas bells that ring there Are the clanging chimes of doom Well tonight thank God it's them instead of you
And there won't be snow in Africa This Christmas time The greatest gift they'll get this year is life Where nothing ever grows No rain nor rivers flow Do they know it's Christmas time at all?
BRIDGE: (Here's to you) raise a glass for everyone (Here's to them) underneath that burning sun Do they know it's Christmas time at all?
END: Feed the world Feed the world Feed the world Let them know it's Christmas time again Feed the world Let them know it's Christmas time again

Christmas Is My Time Of Year, Christmas Spirit (White Whale, 1968)
A true oddity in the annals of Christmas rock, this one-off project was recorded by an oddball assortment of California rockers, some already famous, others soon to be. Written by Turtles singer Howard Kaylan and producer Chip Douglas (Monkees, Lovin' Spoonful, Turtles), "Christmas Is My Time Of Year" is a sterling (if eccentric) example of folk rock, and it brims with the festive spirit of the holidays. Lending a hand were Turtle Mark Volman (who, with Kaylan, later performed with Frank Zappa as Flo & Eddie); Gram and Gene Parsons (both of whom were members of the Byrds and the Flying Burrito Brothers but were not related); Linda Ronstadt (then a Stone Poney but soon to become a country rock icon); Henry Diltz and Cyrus Faryar (who, with Douglas, were members of the Modern Folk Quartet); and the Bessie Griffin and the Gospel Pearls, whose cacophonous caroling nearly overwhelm the proceedings. Originally released by tiny White Whale Records (home to the Turtles and not much else), "Christmas Is My Time Of Year" has been reissued only once, on Rhino's long out-of-print Rockin' Christmas: The 60's. Monkees Peter Tork, Mickey Dolenz, and Davy Jones released an inferior cover version in 1976.

THIS WAS FINALLY POSTED IN ITS ENTIRETY!! (A couple of years ago. How did we miss it? And written by Bobby Kimmel?)
It's ALWAYS a Merry Christmas when we find something new from Linda Ronstadt even when it's old.
Christmas Spirit - Will You Still Believe In Me
Published on Dec 13, 2015 Lovely L.A folk rock Xmas sounds from 1967... Chip Douglas, Linda Ronstadt, Gram Parsons, Gene Parsons, Howard Kaylan, Henry Diltz, Cyrus Faryar... Perhaps the oddest contribution in this ‘alternate discography’ was Gram’s inclusion on a country-rock Christmas tune by the made-to-order group, The Christmas Spirit. The Turtles’ record label White Whale released this one-off single, Christmas Is My Time of Year backed with Will You Still Believe in Me. In such heady company as that of Clarence White and Linda Ronstadt, Gram and The Christmas Spirit deliver a truly whacked out pair of Country Rock tunes.
Haha. Check out this video:

And I just found the A Side! From what I am gathering and hearing Linda and the Turtles are on the B Side and only one Turtle is on the A Side but not Linda either. The A side has a Rocky Horror Picture Show sound to it.

"I think honesty is of the first, utmost importance in art... any art. After that comes technique and... after that comes talent. Honesty is first. All the rest of the things are important, too, but they're secondary. Without honesty, I don't care how much technique you have, you have nothing."--Linda Ronstadt
Sad day taking down Christmas decorations. House is looking dull. Good news while putting decorations away ,I told Alexa to play Linda Ronstadt music. It’s been a great selection of Linda!

And here we are almost a year later. Been quite a year for Linda, her family and fans!
Here's hoping that everyone is pulling through the toughest Christmas that I think most of us have ever experienced in our lives. Stay safe.

This Christmas past, 2020, was when Linda saved me. Lockdown had been reimposed, and my brother could not visit me, I was going to have a lonely yuletide.
Going through YT looking for uplifting Christmas songs, I came across Linda's albumn, heard it right through & bought it on MP3 from Amazon, then ordered a CD. Christmas was no longer so sad, and I knew what I wanted for presents, yup, Linda galore!
Its nearly Easter now, I have 70+ Linda albums, DVDs (some multiple versions..), others' where Linda guests on tracks & various playlists.
I never new what a great entertainment & fascination ride I was going on, all from "A Merry Christmas". God bless you Linda Ronstadt.
Not many days left before Christmas 2021 and I wanted to bring this back to the top of the list. Although a few of the songs that Linda performed with Aaron Neville on his Christmas special back in the 1990s exist as stand-alone songs, the complete special seems to be missing -- for the time being -- from YouTube. Search Google/YouTube and Bing with no luck.

"Ave Maria" is on an AN album, as is "Song of Bernadette", they can be bought as MP3 from Amazon . At least IWAIW is on AMLC.
I love a lot of the reaction videos. They are fun to watch. eddiejinnj
I watch a lot of those reaction videos too. Seems like everybody and their mother is getting on board the reaction train. It is fun indeed to see their reaction to the songs and even more fun to see who are fans. It's like Andy Warhol said, everyone will be famous for fifteen minutes. And these reaction videos are better than someone posting the 1000th version of a song already on Youtube. My personal gripe is Youtube needs to pay the artists more. I watched an instructional video on playing guitar by some female English singer-songwriter-musician. She writes her own songs and she makes the instructional videos, but she is so poorly paid. Youtube is the reason why artists are selling their catalogs to other companies. Someone may post a music video and a million hits will only generate $600 in income. And that's wrong. Makes me think Youtube is run by some of Col. Parker's greedy relatives
