I believe they are from when Linda was all of ten years old (she references the second pic as her riding in the 1956 Tucson Rodeo Parade in her memoir).

From 1985, a pic of Linda holding (if you can believe this) her then-newborn cousin Britt:

Most likely this one is from July 1983, prior to Linda's performance at the old Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Linda's here with the Okie From Muskogee, Merle Haggard:

Isn't Haggard quoted somewhere as saying that Linda is his favorite female singer?

Yes, I believe he mentioned that in a magazine interview sometime in 1988. And I believe he had actually met Linda the first time back in 1969.

Looks great. How did you do that? eddiejinnj I found that pic online somewhere, but I was looking at photo colorization video's on Y.T., using free and paid for programs like photo shop, and it looks like it takes a lot of time and patience to pull it off! Mine would probably end up looking like grade school finger paints!

I always wanted to send Linda a silver bangle and ask her to wear it and me then notice that she was wearing it in a pic. I never did since I was not a fan that wrote into the record company or mgt etc. Plus, it is one of those things you mean to do but don't as you say to yourself it won't get to her etc etc. When I finally was honored to be in her presence as the last signed book at the 92nd Y (I just keep putting that in writing when I can because I was floored that I was the last after they counted out the last 5. I was it.) in NYC, I gave her a hand carved peace sign pendant. I know that Janet would do her best to give it to Linda when they got in the dressing room. I gave the gift to Janet as Linda was signing my book and my partner was taking pics. I hope you got the gift Linda. I thought it a fitting one; not over the top but very nice and vintage to when you were starting out. eddiejinnj

May I ask..why didn't you give it to her directly? The hoop earrings look silver but the bracelets on each arm look gold.. the larger one if gold and if she still has it must be worth a lot.. if it's solid gold.. I love it. kind of looks indian or middle eastern looking. I love that style

Both of Linda's parents made jewelry. Linda's mother even had a patent on some. It is possible some of the ornaments she wore were family made.
