Hi Rob, I think you have just downloaded the torrent file which is only 16kB. Using a torrent client program (of which there are many freely available) it enables you to log on to a tracker which tells you how many people (seeds) currently have the actual radio program mp3s and will let you download it from them. Currently there is just the one seed (joseron) who initially posted it. However, while you download it (called leeching) and more importantly after you have downloaded it, you have to be able to also upload it so any other person downloading it can get it from you and joseron at the same time. The more people that are uploading lets the downloaders get it quicker, who then also upload too, and so it cascades (creating a 'swarm' of uploaders & downloaders). It's called 'peer to peer' networking. However, to enable you to upload, the tracker, or sometimes the people in the swarm directly, need to access the data on your computer. Your firewall prevents this and so does the router you use to connect to the internet, for security reasons. To enable this you have to configure your router to allow 2 way communication on a specific computer 'port' and your torrent client communicates only via this port, (called 'port forwarding') This protects your security. There are many etiquette rules to 'torrenting' and if you break them too often you can get banned from the tracker. Unless you're computer savvy you can get in a bit of a mess. For a 95MB file (which has no copyright issues) a file sharing site would be easier. Alan

Torrents and I have never gotten along... I may have to wait then. The show does sound vaguely familiar.

The link above shows only 1 seed, but when I downloaded it, it said there were 6. My share ratio is currently showing at 8.312, so several folks must be getting these files.

It's a public tracker Tony which are unreliable on peer stats, and you probably have DHT enabled in your client, which public trackers allow. DHT (Distributed Hash Table) allows you to connect directly to other peers, bypassing the tracker. DHT transfers therefore aren't logged by the tracker leading to low peer stats. I normally just use private trackers which are more strict on logging your transfers so DHT isn't allowed.
I already have this radio broadcast on 2 CDs and was going to offer to convert to mp3 and upload it to enable Rob to have a copy, but as you already have it in mp3, that could save me the trouble. ;D

I can upload it to a file sharing website. Which one do you recommend?

I use Mediafire. You save to sign up, but it's free and you get 50GB of storage. Downloads are fast with no initial delays and your account page has details of all your files you've uploaded. They don't disappear if they haven't been downloaded for a few weeks and I don't think there is a download limit. Alan

That seems to complicated for my brain to wrap around. ha. I did used tony's link and could only open the first and second. I'd prefer the long interviews verses the studios songs.
