A while back I posted about my shelf breaking and my LPs crashing to the floor: I thought the damage was minimal. I finally got the shelf repaired and replacing the records and I have found two casualties, Linda Ronstadt Greatest Hits and Living Like a Fool/He Darked the Sun.

I checked ebay and there were a few copies of Living Like a Fool for sale but none with the same label that I have. All the ones on ebay have a photo of the Capitol Records building on the label. Oh well, something for to keep an eye out.

wow, that sucks.. I hope you can find replacements for your nice collection. I collect a lot of mid century home goods, including vintage dishes. pyrex, fire king and hazel atlas ect.. I belong to a facebook group who buy and sell and when a buyer receives a broken dish.. aka sad mail.. there is a guy who takes the vintage shards and transforms them into beautiful pendants or earrings ... Maybe you can do the same with the broken records...? Viola! JK.. lol I do hope you find replacements. www.nowthatspeachy.com/2012/07/how-to-make-your-own-vinyl-necklace.html

Did Linda record "Living Like a Fool" in 1970? I ask because Red Rhodes, John London and John Ware were all members of Michael Nesmith's First National Band. And they were in fact the band as Nesmith was the only other member. John London and John Ware were with Linda on Playboy After Dark, along with Bernie, I think, but I don't believe Red played with Linda on that show.

I believe Linda recorded "Living Like A Fool" for Free Creek, an all-star session 'jam" album actually recorded in New York City during the summer of 1969. Bernie was in her band The Corvettes at the time, though by the end of the summer he would move over to the Burrito Brothers. He still did session work with her, however; and in fact, he made far more money doing that than he did being a member of the Burritos, where Gram Parsons', how shall we say, eccentric behavior was a detriment to the band.
