I think Barbara may have preferred it that way.

Most of the obituaries I've seen neglect to mention her appearance in "Can't Stop the Music" (1980) -- I was violated at that movie.

Most of the obituaries I've seen neglect to mention her appearance in "Can't Stop the Music" (1980) -- I was violated at that movie. I feel like I was too and I only saw the movie. (Tony, I sincerely hope that you don’t mean really violated.) Sidenote: Before we met in 1989, my late partner Tommie Saeli had a West Village date with Randy Jones (Village People cowboy). Randy told him “I’m bringing a surprise.” Tommie was so disappointed that it was cocaine. He was hoping for Chinese food.

I used to get Barbara Rush and Barbara Hale confused when I was younger. Kept insisting Barbara Rush was in Perry Mason. But, I loved "It Came from Outer Space." It was one of my favorite movies growing up. I watched more science fiction movies when I was a kid than I watched westerns, but I usually never confused actresses.

Another loss in Hollywood.
I have one film in my DVD collection where Barbara Rush is featured, and that would be the 1967 Martin Ritt-directed Western Hombre, based on the Elmore Leonard book of the same name, and starring Paul Newman as a half-White, half-Apache man. It was filmed out in Linda's neck of the woods, near Tucson in 1966.

My favorite Barbara Rush reference—“Shampoo”—Warren Beatty: “I do Barbara Rush.”

(Tony, I sincerely hope that you don’t mean really violated.) . I suppose I should explain. While we were watching the movie, my car was broken into and my wife’s pocketbook was stolen. They took her money and jewelry and threw the pocketbook away. It was found and returned a few days later. Credit cards and ID were still there. So in actuality she was more violated than I.
