I hope that Linda uses Google today--Lola Beltran is the doodle, for her 92nd birthday.

Linda may not be the most tech-savvy person in the world, but I too hope she finds out about this, having her childhood role model honored this way. If she does, it'll probably because her daughter Mary told her about it.

A project worth considering for her 78th birthday on July 15th.
And while we're still on the subject of Lola, I know how much Linda puts down a lot of what she does because her belting style doesn't come from what the critics' so-called "rule book" about rock and roll says it "should" come from, which is usually R&B, but from the Mexican ranchera tradition that Lola personified. But for artists and their fans, there's no such thing as a rule book in rock and roll; and by virtue of Linda's vocal style being as influential as it has proven to be over four generations of her female peers, would it be too far-fetched to say that, even if through unintended osmosis, Lola has had an influence on rock and roll, as well as all music styles related to Mexico?
