I am a gay man and I think the lyrics are stupid. His vocals are great but he is doing us no favors waving his/or our flag with lyrics like that. Ok if you’re in a club shaking your groove thang but that’s it. I am also fifty-eight years old and have not seen the inside of a club in fifteen years. I am no prude either. The lyrics are hardly shocking and the word play is meant for just that. Yawn. The song might make me not pay attention to him in the future and he has a good voice.
I find Orville Peck more interesting and talk about a VOICE. MY GOD HE CAN SING!

I'm a 40 year old gay man who grew up in Nashville. The thing that my generation and older gays seem to miss is that Dixon Dallas, nor anyone else, do not owe us any favors. The whole point of all the hardship so many gay men have endured is so that Dixon Dallas and everyone else can express themselves how they want. Does the use of the term B-ussy sound crass to my ears? Sure, but so what? The Ben Shapiro's of the world are going to clutch their pearls regardless of what words are used. They are going to still try to call all LGBTQIA+ folk groomers. They are going to undermine our marriage rights and our rights to fair treatment. This artists music isn't going to make any of that any worse. We need to stand by and stand strong with the younger generation as they run where once we walked. Most country artists, even the ones that have ascended to greatness started their careers with cringe-worthy lyrics. Dixon Dallas is no different. I'll be going to his show in Nashville this evening, because while I might cringe when he sings about boy *ussy, I'll also be proud to see that some of what we fought so hard to achieve actually made a difference.
