I remember that photo Tony had/has on the site of Linda singing with a group of other vocalist, Debbie Boone and Tony were up on stage with Linda and others. Tony was singing next to Linda and the look on his face watching g Linda belt it out is great. Sorry, I’m not good at remembering how to post photos so maybe someone else will add it to this thread.
Another great gone. RIP Tony, your work down here is done. Great job!

Yeah, I was watching "Morning Joe," this morning and they put up a photo of San Francisco with Tony singing, "I left My Heart in San Francisco," Mika then says it's 6:00 am in San Francisco.. at that point, it hit me that he passed and sure enough, she announced it with a beautiful tribute. RIP lovely sweet man.. You brought so much joy to many people and you were great humanitarian and patriot.

I saw Ella at Radio City Music Hall April 26, 1990, the day after her birthday, and Tony brought out a cake and sang Happy Birthday. Ella said “He always remembers.” I felt like I was on Mount Olympus.

All the lights are slowly going out for the greatest entertainers from the greatest time. It happens, the world turns, gets older, but it still hurts with the growing darkness.

Also I think full credit had to be given for Tony Bennett keeping his integrity all the way.... I loved his music but I was / am always more of a Sinatra fan, Sinatra lost his integrity badly in the cabaret years from the 1970s onwards in my opinion, but prior to that was just the greatest. Tony's credibility right through was just totally admirable, so absolutely full respect to him for that.

A post on Instagram by someone I follow on there -- https://www.instagram.com/p/Cu-TWAkypYO If you aren't able to access it, here is the part of the post I wanted to highlight/mention: From NatandGoogie -- Today we say a sad goodbye to the fabulous Tony Bennett. Jack (Benny) or George (Burns) didn't work with Tony that I know of, but Tony used to tell a great Jack story, so worth a post... . It seems in Las Vegas, early in Tony's career, one early morning when the streets were empty, Tony saw a man walking briskly outside. He asked who it was, and the answer was "Oh that's Jack Benny - he walks every morning, early, before anyone is up..." . Tony said that affected him, in an industry where people pushed themselves hard and abused the nightlife, Benny obviously had some self-preservation priorities, taking care of himself and maintaining for his performances. He said he never forgot the example... . I had the great opportunity to see Tony in person, in 1993 at the Concord Pavilion. He cranked out an AMAZING concert that night, to a mostly full outdoor house. When the concert 'ended' and a fair portion of the audience had left, Tony comes out from the curtain and announces "wait, I'm not finished yet, let's sing some more!" and people turn around, find whatever seat is next to them, and he sings for 20 more minutes!... . ...then the concert 'ends' again, this time for quite a while, and only about 15% of the audience still remains. And out comes Tony AGAIN - "Wait, let's sing a bit more!" and he sings another number! By this time we were in the primo near-the-stage seats. Its crazy! But wait, it gets better... . ...after he finishes the number, he invites anyone who wants up on to the stage to meet him! I'm not making this up! (this is before 9/11 and things more innocent)... . ...Earlier that day it had been announced that the great radio station in San Francisco, Magic 61AM, that played popular hits of the 40s and 50s, was going off the air due to changing demographics. Tony had previously done a promo for them, among others (even Sinatra). When I got to meet Tony and shake his hand, I told him about the station, and his response was "F**k demographics, that's a shame!" . That's my Tony Bennett story. Thanks for all the great music Mr. Benedetto. ❤️ " .
