I was watching a fairly recent video on YouTube of Linda being interviewed to promote the Feels Like Home book and she says she recorded In The Bleak Midwinter for her Christmas album … which isn’t a song on the album.
Do we think she is misremembering ? Or perhaps did she record that track? It’s a lovely tune and I would have liked to hear her version.

My guess is she recorded it but it was left off the album because I remember her speaking about it in an interview many years ago, long before the Feels Like Home book release/interview. I too love “In The Bleak Midwinter” and have been hoping for a rerelease of the Xmas album with the tune included ever since I heard about her recording the song.

I never hear Linda talk about it but am excited if there is another song out there we have not heard. I do not know the song, itself but will check it out. eddiejinnj

Listening to Jamie Cullum singing it. I hope Linda did a solo on this one though another version her high soprano would work well with a choir.

I’ve been a fan of Shawn Calvin’s version of “In The Bleak Midwinter” since she released it many years ago around the time Linda released her Christmas album.

I think a version of "In The Bleak Midwinter" would have worked on the Christmas album, particularly with instrumental and/or vocal arrangements similar to those found on "Away In A Manger" and "I Wonder As I Wander".
As a sidenote: it's weird we're talking about Christmas when, where I am, in Pasadena, California, it is a "chilly" 98 degrees outside right now (LOL).

Christmas in July, lol!!!! I think she could have done a dramatic solo version like the Jamie Callum version. "I Wonder As I Wander" really focuses on Linda's gorgeous prominent voice. I will check out Shawn Colvin's version.
