Martha Reeves wrote the foreword to the most recent edition of the book:
"Linda Ronstadt: Rock’s first female superstar".
Does anyone have it to post on this website? Thanks.

No, I haven't heard about it. I will look around and see what I can find. It would seem good news that they are putting out a new edition of the book. They must have thought there was enough interest. eddiejinnj

Everything I find online references a 2014 date. I'll keep looking. eddiejinnj

The book exists as I have a copy, but I can't find it for sale yet. Maybe mine is an advance copy. Can anyone provide a link to a website where this book can be purchased?

abebooks says for the Martha intro edition: “ISBN 10: 1086190823 ISBN 13: 9781086190823. Publisher: Independently published, 2019. This specific ISBN edition is currently not available.” Tony, does either ISBN number match your copy? This is the cover that abebooks shows. Amazon lists one used copy for the 2019 edition with the same cover:

Here is the back cover of the new edition. No bar codes or identification numbers.

Tony-the ISBN number should be on the first pages where the copyright/publication date appears. Does it match?

Only copyright date of 2023 is on that page, no other numbers.

I spoke with the writer of the book today and what I have is an advance copy. It is still being edited and should be available in a few weeks.

Does “invited me onto the stage” mean that Martha sang “Heat Wave” with Linda? If so, first time I’ve heard that. I knew that Linda sang with Smokey onstage before “Motown 25” but Martha is new information. The Linda Forum needs audio/video. I would have dropped stone dead if I heard Linda and Martha doing the “yeah yeah”s together.

Could be one of those things that Linda does not recall well or it just got by us after all these years. The Linda Mick Tumbling Dice piece we all did not hear until recent years. For many moons, tmk, there were just pics, backstage and onstage. Would love to hear the "Heatwave" duet. eddiejinnj

Funny coincidence--I was in Stop & Shop earlier today and they were playing Linda's Heat Wave. I always feel like she's watching over me when I go into a store and they're playing her music. It's very comforting!

More from Martha:
Yeah, and “Heat Wave” was a million-seller too?
Martha Reeves: I don’t know about a million sales, but it was the first song that Berry Gordy labeled the Motown Sound he’d been looking for.
“Heat Wave” has been played and re-recorded by a lot of people too. Linda Ronstadt did a wonderful version of “Heat Wave.”
