Was watching the latest episode of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and the main character Midge Maisel gets talked into performing in an industrial or trade show.
For some reason I have a memory of reading an article during the 1980s (probably during her Nelson Riddle years) that Linda was being paid handsomely to sing in / at company conventions. My memory of this is that when I first read it I was surprised by it but figured she had her reasons. It seems to me the article might have been in The New York Times.
Does anyone else remember hearing / reading about this?

Does anyone else remember hearing / reading about this? Never heard of Linda doing company conventions shows regularly ever in her career and I have followed pretty closely since the late 70’s. I didn’t read the NYT daily back in early 80’s. She could have. Thanks for the reminder about new episode of TMMM, watched the season premiere and the next two last Friday. It’s been my favorite show for a few years. I’ve watched the previous seasons 3-4 times already. |

It was in the 2000's that we discussed seeing Linda's, I think mgt company, advertising that Linda was available for shows/events for the exact fee I forget.

I seem to remember Linda and Emmylou doing a corporate function in Texas during the 90s or early 2000s. It might have been Austin, or Houston, maybe San Antonio. IIRC, I think it involved Dell Computer in some way.

IIRC, there was also some kind of mess up with Austin City Limits on the same tour.
