Yes, it is a shock. My deepest sympathies to all of Christine's loved ones. I forgot that she is like 3 yrs older than Linda. Stevie is like a year or two younger than Linda, if I am not mistaken. eddiejinnj

I definitely didn't see it coming. My sister texted me with the sad news after she heard about it from her husband. I was like, what...? That couldn't be right, but it was. I got online and the internet was just catching up to the news. Her cause of death wasn't given but it said following a brief illness, I'm guessing it was an age-related illness like pneumonia, maybe. The world is never going to be the same. Rest in peace, beautiful Songbird.

Christine was three years and three days older than Linda (July 12, 1943 to Linda's July 15, 1946) while Stevie is 22 months younger than Linda (May 26, 1948). Sad that when we bring up the artists of the 60s and 70s now, it's for their obituaries being posted rather than for new music.

IMHO, I believe that she was the glue/soul of Fleetwood Mac, and my absolute favorite in the band. She was with so many incarnations of the group. And, if you look at the songwriting credits, she wrote more songs than any other member (did Mick or John even write songs?).
If I remember correctly, there was a time in the late 70s - early 80s when many members were going off and doing their own solo albums. But Mick wouldn't let Christine do the same, saying that her songs belonged to Fleetwood Mac. For the most important member IMO, she was treated as the least important by the band (and as perceived by the public).

The fact that her maiden name was Perfect says it all.

For the most important member IMO, she was treated as the least important by the band (and as perceived by the public). Christine released her second solo album in 1983-84. She had a hit song from it along with another tune that was a minor hit. Mick didn’t keep Christine from recording a solo album, EVER! Mick released his own solo album in 81-82. Just because Christine took a little longer to record her SECOND solo album AFTER joining Fleetwood Mac, her first was released before she joined FM, doesn’t mean she was kept from it. She wasn’t. Christine said many times in interviews, she didn’t write a lot, when she does it’s when she needs to for a project and the tunes come quickly. She doesn’t labor over them like Stevie does and she doesn’t(didn’t) feel the need to write all the time like Stevie and Lindsey. John McVie is not doing well health wise and Lindsey just cancelled his latest tour due to undisclosed health issues. This is AFTER his surgery from a couple years ago that left not being able to sing or perform for over a year. My guess is Fleetwood Mac are at the end of the line. Truly this time.

Just read an update on Lindsey Buckingham. This passed year he dealt with health issues (having to cancel the remainder of his tour after having to cancel it twice in 2019-2020 because of a heart attack and then again after being diagnosed with COVID. He also said he has been dealing with a lot of grief and now is back on track, feeling healthy and positive and has started recording a new solo album. That’s some good news to start 2023!

I seem to remember many speculating online that she died from complications from her COVID vaccinations. Hope all those people spreading the stupid lie take the time to read her cause of death. I am sure they would respond with digging in.
