Looks like a very impressive set, but I think the Session Work cd could raise some questions as to whether Campbell played on the tracks. I know that on the two Monkees tracks - "Last Train to Clarksville" and "I'm a Believer," Campbell was not among the musicians credited in the liner notes when those songs were reissued by Rhino on the albums they were originally released on nor the various greatest hits packages and box sets. I was surprised to read there was some question as to whether Campbell had played on the Champs's "Tequila," surprised because that story had been around since the 60s, and I didn't recall seeing any dispute about it until the seconddisc article.
The dvd is worth having just for all of the performances listed. I don't think the performance of Linda and Glen performing "Silver Threads and Golden Needles" has ever turned on youtube. Surprising that one has been overlooked, given that there is a video of Linda and Glen performing James Taylor's "Carolina In My Mind," and with Neil Diamond, performing a medley of his songs. Not sure why that performance wasm't included - maybe publishing haggles or artist compensation had something to do with it?
And while it's kind of disappointing that some of Glen's hits were missed, on the other hand, you do get a few early pre-Capitol rarities that have likely never been released on cd before. When it comes to choosing between hearing the hits and hearing older recordings that have slipped through the cracks, I'd choose the latter as you can figure the hits will likely be reissued at some point.

He supposedly officially retired this past weekend due to his malady and then almost as quickly the news was that he may be open to playing some dates if he is feeling good sometime next year. Hopefully he is taking coconut oil.

One of GC's earliest recordings, dating from 1962 and done with a folk/bluegrass outfit called The Green River Boys, was the oft-recorded (but shockingly never a big hit for anybody) "Long Black Limousine", about a girl who returns to her hometown in a the limo of the title...and it turns out to be a hearse:
Written by Vern Stovall and Bobby George, this same song was also recorded by (among others) Jody Miller, Merle Haggard, Jeannie Seely, the Flying Burrito Brothers (on a 1969 bootleg recording), and some guy named Elvis Presley (LOL).

I have the first Glen Campbell box set, the four-disc set, and I would like to have this. I wish they had made this new one a bit less deluxe and more affordable. And then they threw in a performance with Linda Ronstadt, which makes it a "must-have" item for the collection.
I sound like I am writing for the twitter feed @whitefolkprobs
