Is it just me, or does it seem like so many bad things happen to good people nowadays?
Seriously, to have this happen to Maureen is not a great thing--not after Linda gets diagnosed first with Parkinson's and then Progressive Supranuclear Palsy; Glen Campbell passes away with Alzheimer's; Neil Diamond having to stop performing because of Parkinson's.
Talk about scary! But this is just one more example to remind us of how mortal we all indeed are.

It happens because we are generations growing older by seconds. Glen was above Neil, Maureen and Linda and those of their generation, just as Maureen, Neil and Linda are the generation above me, though I consider Linda to be in my sub-generation (less than 10 years separation). It's difficult to watch these artists come down ill and then suddenly pass away, and it's a shock to us because we don't realize how old they are and we are and are getting. I like the MonaLisa Twins but they are four generations removed from me. The age difference doesn't matter when one is talking about music. Like the line in Get Together says, We are but a moment's sunlight, fading in the grass. Our time here is finite. The music of our favorite artists and bands are ageless and can appeal to all generations. But, our failure is in not remembering our favorite artists and bands and ourselves are not immortal. And we are gone all too soon.
