The Ohio show date was on my step-mom's bday when I was 15. I immediately thought of that when I saw it. That is a very good pic of Linda. eddiejinnj

[/quote] Researching Linda Ronstadt’s concert history is a bottomless pit of contradicting data. Yes, the conventions for dates between Us and UK/Aus are confusing. The GIW website data for images of Linda’s concert with Maria Muldaur & Bonnie Raitt at the Santa Monica venue gives the date as the 10th January 1974. This is the same day as the concert at Oxnard Community Center. Elsewhere the concert is noted as 11th January.? There seems to be no data to elaborate on this concert ie No tickets, advertisements and no concert reviews seem to exist, only a range of photos from the concert. Concert databases for Maria Muldaur & Bonnie Raitt contain no details for this concert 1974 That is the first time I have seen the image with the red and white checked top. Thank you for posting. Comparing the two photos the hair style and length is similar. Ditto the photo by Sherry Rayn Barnet from 1974. DOES ANYBODY IN THE FORUM HAVE ANY INFORMATION REGARDING THIS CONCERT, that can clarify this matter.

Linda didn't do any shows between September 14, 1974 (The Palamino) and November 26, 1974 (San Jose Civic Auditorium). She played January 10, 1974 (Oxnard Community Center), January 11, 1974 (Santa Monica Civic Center) as with the rest of that leg of the Linda Ronstadt/Jackson Browne tour which started on January 10 and finished on March 5, 1974, as reported in the newspaper. So it is January 11, 1974 at the Santa Monica Civic Center. I don't know which newspaper, but the wire is out of New York.

I echo Ausfan2’s comments that Linda’s concert history is a bottomless pit of contradicting data.I like you searched extensively for a definitive date for her concert with Maria & Bonnie in Santa Monica, nothing mentioned anywhere on either Maria or Bonnie’s concert sites, local newspapers, music magazines,or even setlists sites. You would think there would be some reviews or adverts for such a concert with three prestigious artists.I have no doubt the concert took place because of the many photos out there, primarily by Henry Diltz, but maybe it wasn’t on the date he reports, which is probably a bit of a red herring. As regards Biff’s statement that Linda didn’t do any shows between September 14th 1974 (The Palomino) & November 26th 1974 (San Jose) the Setlist fm site lists her as doing concerts at Tuesdays San Diego on October 27th.1974,Julia Sanderson Theatre Springfield MA on November 2nd 1974 & Irvine Auditorium Philadelphia on November 8th. 1974.The proboards site dated March 14th 2016 details a whole slew of concerts between those dates quoted above too numerous to mention including gigs at The Hollywood Bowl & a set of three nights at The Troubadour where she duetted with Emmylou on Honky Tonk Blues on one of the dates. I am not trying to say these details are correct because I don’t know where they got this information from but it just goes to show that there is so much contradictory reports of her touring history out there to get a true picture of where she actually played & when.

I am not disputing that this concert took place in 1974 just that Linda was on a tour with Jackson Browne from the 10th January 1974 to 5th March 1974.It is widely reported from numerous sources they played the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium on the 11th January 1974.If we take Getty Images word for it that it was January that year that the Linda/Bonnie/Maria concert took place (mind you they are notorious for getting the dates wrong)there were a few dates free in the Linda/Jackson tour schedule where they could have fitted in the concert namely the 14th & the 16th,the 14th being most likely as they were still in California.I am not the only member of this forum who has searched extensively for definitive details regarding the Linda/Bonnie/Maria concert date.Apart from the Henry Diltz site on GIW Images where the date of 10th not the 11th is quoted there is absolutely nothing out there giving the exact date.Getty Images probably got it’s information from Diltz stating January which may be correct but I don’t think it’s the 10th January because it’s widely listed on numerous sources Linda began her tour with Jackson on that date at Oxnard,California. For such a huge concert by three prestigious artists at that time it is still quite unusual that the only thing out there about this gig is just the many Henry Diltz photos,no reviews, concert adverts, ticket stubs,Setlists or even YouTube videos.

Just found above photo of Linda,Bonnie & Maria backstage at Santa Monica Civic Auditorium on Getty Images Australian site for Maria Muldaur where it quotes the date as the 14th January 1974.See my above post about this date. This would still mean that the Linda/Jackson date for the 11th January still went ahead & this concert was fitted into free dates in tour schedule.

Linda performed on January 13, 1974 at Fullerton Community Center in Fullerton, CA and then on to Seattle, Washington to play at the Paramount Theatre on January 15, 1974. Looks like January 14th is out. It's an 1100 plus miles drive, or a 17 plus hour drive.

Probably Maria Muldaur and Bonnie Raitt did a guest spot (sat in) at Linda's concert at the Santa Monica Civic Center on January 11, 1974. Andrew Gold's Martin D-35 (that Linda used) is in the Henry Ditz color picture of Bonnie handing Linda a drink. There probably never was an actual Maria Muldaur/Bonnie Raitt/Linda Ronstadt concert.

For that matter how do we know if they even performed together that night. There are no pictures of them singing together. Some pictures of them on stage and in the dressing room is all that I have seen. No performance pictures.
