Not really .. just a cool site that lets you download just about any mp3 file and make it your ringtone.. you can search for just about any artist, BTW.. My Norton AV and AVG scanner found site was clean... and it is free! audiko.net/albums/Linda+Ronstadt

That's great Robert! I see "you're no good" is available, I'd like that I'd love to have Linda announcing my voicemail, I heard about celebs that were selling customized phone answering messages several years ago.

That would be very cool perhaps a song. As far as her leaving an out going greeting. I don't think my friends & family would know the diff. we both have high voices and speak rather fast:)

A tall guy who'd get totally in drag like Judy Garland and other female singers, and he sang like them as I recall. Was always on the talk shows. Probably lots of youtubes of him.

Then there's "big Ang," from mob wives. I swear to god, at first I thought big ang was a dude.

Scary. I work at a call center (call ins only, no outbound calls) and talk to women sometimes whose voices sound lower than mine. And I have a deep baritone voice when it comes to speaking! I mistakenly call them sir and that's usually when they inform me they are not men. I've spoken with a guys that I thought were women and they react the same way too.
I'd have no trouble mistaking Linda's voice but I doubt she will ever be one of the callers.

That has happened to me to. Ground swallow me whole.. is how I felt. Also when I worked the phones sometimes for a pathologist group, all of the ladies in my dept were mexican american, including me.. anyway, when a provider or member wanted to talk to me and did not catch my name, it was always "the one who sounded white." lol so the girls who flip it over to me. ugh..

We're supposed to address our customers by their first or last name, which is easy enough to do most of the time. But, then, we get the people from foreign countries with not so easy names to pronounce. That's usually when I refer to them as sir or ma'am as they don't pronounce their own names when speaking to me and I don't want to make things worse for them by mispronouncing their name. It would be a big advantage if the company I worked for notated on the screen what the customer's sex was (with the usual Mr./Mrs./Miss designation) but they don't do that. As for me, I'm a white guy but on the phone, a lot of people think I'm black. That includes people I'm speaking to who are black. I've occasionally been called the n-word by whites and blacks - I deal with a lot of very rude people on the phone, who are angry about their situation, and who think swearing and name calling will get them what they want or need. Unfortunately, I have to go by the company's rules when providing assistance, which usually involves money (because they are usually responsible for the problem) and if they don't want to pay, I can't provide them with assistance, and no amount of swearing or name calling is going to change that. It's a very stressful job, stressful because we are dealing with rude customers and also because the company wants us to get the customer off the phone in about ten minutes and sometimes ten minutes is not enough to get all the information one needs to provide the customer with assistance.

Yes, I used to work in a call center- cust svc and it is very stressful, a big turn over in that field and lots of disability stress leave. i couldn't do it again.. it takes a lot of patience. That's horrible when people assume one thing then use racial slurs out of anger... I remember one time while on the phones, this younger african american woman, went there with me too.. it was about her bill and she wasnt happy, in closing, she told me.. you're probably some white preppy bitch then hung up on me. lol Even if that is totally false, it just amazes me how some people say these things either over the phone or on line when you know they wouldn't dare in person. And also, the N word, IMO, that doesn't make it okay for an african american to use it towards another african american out of anger either.. doesn't make it okay.. it's just as rude.
