Thanks for posting these gems, heartbreaker. The interview with Lowell and Linda is hilarious--"announciate" - LOL. Linda also got her plug in for Emmylou. What a loss that Lowell George died so young--such as talented songwriter and musician.

Great Posting :-) I've loved this session for many years, it is quite wonderful... the ragged backing vocals on Willin' always make me smile "that was nuts!" I am a huge fan of Little Feat, the Lowell George years and have collected Feat and Feat related material from that era for donkey's years. Linda performed the best ever version of All That You Dream at the Lowell George benefit in 1979 and her most moving version of Willin'. It's a cryin' shame and quite criminal that the Tribute set only seems to be available as a ropey nth generation film on Youtube when it really was an amazing show. I've tried to locate a better copy, and I'm pretty dilligent tracking down stuff I want, but with no luck. Lowell was such a charismatic eccentric genius, one of the brightest stars. I sometimes think I'm the only Little Feat fan in England :-) But I kind of like that. I have framed LF bootleg covers and other photos of Lowell & Feat all over my shop walls.
There is a lovely picture of him with Linda in the LR Scrapbook, face to face deep in conversation over Lowell's guitar. That one has pride of place on my wall.

Hey Alyn, How goes it? I like that pic of her with Lowell you described. She had the big bell bottoms on and a hat I think I had style wise. She looked so intent to get her point across, if I remember correctly. Hope all is well? Be safe!!!! eddiejinnj

A couple of new Linda Ronstadt concert audience recordings have recently been posted to Bigozine2 - 11/7/1977 Maryland and 10/3/1977 LA Amphitheatre. The second one is missing the first seven songs, but is supposed to be near-soundboard quality. They also have the unreleased "Keeping Out of Mischief" album at the moment (recordings come and go, and then come back again). I mention it here because Bigozine2 is where I first found and listened to the Bethesda Radio broadcast in this thread.

I love that Mercenary Territory artwork, and the 'live' track on Waiting For Columbus is just an outstanding piece of work thanks to Tower of Power' collaberation on it. It's brilliant... but it was recorded at a soundcheck and probably one of those tracks on the 'live' album heavily overdubbed by Lowell afterwards. I know they did play it live at The Rainbow because I have a bootleg recording of the show but I think it was the infamous show when the band were off their heads and I'm not sure the Young Brits went wild at that point :-) Another episode in the wonderful ramshackle Feat story :-) :-) Thank you for posting! I love it.

I have bought the CD
Lowell George with Linda Ronstadt at friends, live from the WHFS Studio in Maryland on March 19th 1974
On March 19, 1974, Lowell George and Linda Ronstadt dropped into Bethesda, Maryland radio station WHFS-FM to chat about music, touring and records as well as informally play a few tunes.
The programme was broadcast live and featured George and Ronstadt dueting on unplugged versions of 'Heartache' (later a hit for Suzy Bogguss) and 'Sailin' Shoes'. They also did George's classic 'Willin'' with help from a few friends and Lowell performs a solo version of another of his compositions, 'China White'.
