I am watching this game show and 2 teams compete against each other. One of the groups was called Mariachi Lindas (4 person teams). When the host spoke to them they did not specifically mention Linda's name but they were dressed just like her Spanish attire/hairstyle. They were asked to perform and they very much sound like Linda's style. Just an FYI. Did anyone else see this? eddiejinnj

My daughter and wife were watching a marathon of this show last week on game show network. I don't know if this particular group was on- I'll have to ask. I'm also wondering about the ambiguity of their name: Is it a reference to our Linda or the Spanish adjective or more cool-both?

Good analysis, Moe. I thought it possible that they were named Linda based on the Spanish word for "beautiful" if I am correct. I just think there is no way they don't know about Linda in their genre. So let's go with it was for BOTH reasons. :-) eddiejinnj

Hi, the groups name is Mariachi Linda’s mexicanas but the game show had to cut the name short. In mariachi, they also play some Linda ronstadt, since she did a whole mariachi album of covers of classic mariachi songs.
