Hi, Erik -- Thanks for posting this. It says it closed in 1963. I remember when Linda was on Marian McPartland's "Piano Jazz" on NPR, Marian asked about Linda's days with The Stone Poneys. And she remarked about the cockroaches at a certain place in Hermosa Beach being so big you "could ride those suckers." There are quite a few clubs in Hermosa, or were, back in the 60s/70s. I remember The Lighthouse was a club in Hermosa Beach. Am thinking by the time Linda was performing with The Stone Poneys that the Insomniac would have been a parking lot, according to article written by Val Nelson.

This would probably mean that Linda was out here on sabbatical in '62 if she went there.
It's a shame that such places of that kind are a dying breed. The only three big clubs in L.A. that I can name off the top that are still around are the Troubadour, the Roxy, and the Whiskey-A-Go-Go, all places where Linda helped build her reputation.
