Well, team sports is perhaps the only area where I think nationalism is acceptable. And the US was the deserved winner. I've seen a few games and the US had the best team. Congrats.  |

Just going on the record, I am proud of our team. But I think we can be proud of our team without the "supporters" we had over there coming across as a bunch of jingoistic yahoos. It's unseemly, and I can understand why it turns the rest of the world off.
Besides, the women from the Netherlands did put up an extremely good fight the entire way despite being shut out on the scoreboard. Yes, the best team won, Team USA, but they'd be the first to admit they got their money's worth in doing it.
