A minor health scare for the man they call The Killer. Jerry Lee Lewis, the 83 year-old, piano-pounding rock and roll icon, suffered a minor stroke last night, but is expected to recover fully and not miss any dates (he has none on his plate until late April): www.savingcountrymusic.com/jerry-lee-lewis-suffers-stroke/comment-page-1/#comment-1051894The only one of the Sun Records Class of 1955 still alive, Lewis has survived far worse health scares, notably quadruple bypass surgery in 1981, and is still pounding and/or tickling the ivories after all these years. After his marriage to his 13 year-old cousin Myra in 1958 nearly torpedoed his career, he had his popularity renewed in the late 1960s and early 1970s with a series of C&W hits, including "What's Made Milwaukee Famous", "One Has My Name", and a fairly savage version of "Chantilly Lace" that narrowly missed the pop Top 40 in early 1972.
