Dedicated To The One I Love

This album was a grower for me. It was released in the early Internet times and I remember going into Tower Records and, as usual, flicking through the Linda section. It was such a pleasant surprise finding a new CD that I wasn't aware of! Then looking at the track list - I could hear Linda belting Be My Baby, Baby I Love You and of course the title track. I couldn't wait to get home and play it.

Initial thoughts were surprise and disappointment .... But I've grown to love this CD. The harmonies are wonderful, as are the arrangements. I've given it to several friends who have had babies too.

This album has a special place in my memories, as Linda autographed it during her 1996 book tour.. With today's word of crazies, and Linda's need for privacy, we are not likely to get this opportunity again

I have to say that Dedicated, while it has its place as a children's album, is not among my favorites of Linda's. I do like her and Aaron Neville's version of the Brahms Lullaby, as well as the Beatles' White Album track "Good Night"; but I am resolute in saying that her version of "We Will Rock You", regardless of what Brian May told her about that song, is a low point in her career.

I like We Will Rock You - very interesting that she included this tune, it's definitely one of the "on the edge" songs on the CD

In My Room is superb! For what this album was meant to be and targeted for it is at the top of the stack, no matter what anyone thinks of it. It shouldn't be compared to her other outings but I know that is going to happen.
