Live from a 'Pirates of Penzance performance! This may be my favorite all-time performance of Linda, and I became her fan back in the late 60's - 70's when she was singing something altogether different. I think this was a gigantic achievement for the Queen of Rock. What talent and what pipes!!!

Was this a clip from the official released stage performance or from someones personal collection? Really enjoyed it. Linda was better than excellent!

Glad you guys liked it.. I wasn't able to determine whether it was personal or official... The video, while quite good, doesn't quite look like a professional quality.. just a guess. I agree that Linda's vocals were spectacular though...

This clip is taken from the Broadway Theatre Archive which has been officially released. Amazon.com linkIt gets some low ratings on Amazon comments due to the technical quality being below standard, though several posters put them straight. ;D It was never intented to be made for general release when recorded and probably went direct to vhs. I love "Go Ye Heroes" - she lets rip and growls the line "Go to death and go to slaughter, die and every Cornish daughter, with her tears your grave shall water, go ye heroes go and die!"

I love "Go Ye Heroes" - she lets rip and growls the line "Go to death and go to slaughter, die and every Cornish daughter, with her tears your grave shall water, go ye heroes go and die!" I wonder if that was a commentary by Gilbert and Sullivan on the jingoistic attitude of the time... the more things change, the more they stay the same... sigh
