Yes, she was definitely a laugh riot; I saw her on so many TV variety shows in the late 70s and 80s.
We're losing a lot of good people this year.

I loved Phyllis. I remember watching an HBO special of hers in the early '80s; she kept the jokes coming so fast and furious that even if one or two missed the next one was sure to get you and once she got you laughing, you might as well roll over and give up. By the end of the show all of us watching were weak from laughing so hard.

Especially when she talked about "Fang", her (non-existent) husband. Now, with a name like "Fang", you'd think she was talking about a werewolf (LOL).

About 3 years ago a friend from Az went to visit a friend in California who was friends with her assistant. When they arrived to visit the assistant he invited her down to meet them and stated something like "we have schnopps" whereas she said I'll be right down! She entertained them for hours and gave my friend a cool caricature of herself and one of her famous cigarette holders which he framed into a collage. Said she was wonderful.
