Yes, Rhiannon, both on her own and as a principal member of the Carolina Chocolate Drops, one of those groups that can be identified as a "string band", is very much one of the great artists of the Americana genre these days. Last year, she had had a hit duet with uber-outlaw Eric Church, "Kill A Word"; and she has carved out a reputation for herself by being one of the few African-American artists of the genre. In fact, in a recent interview, I believe Linda even mentioned Rhiannon as being one of her favorite contemporary artists.

It's rare I want to listen to new talent all the way through. Very nice.

I'm trying to remember..

It's close to the end of this interview she gave for the Fox Bay Area affiliate last October (I think she refers to Rhiannon as "the girl from the Carolina Chocolate Drops"):

Okay, now I remember.. Thanks Erik...... Here's another one with Tom Jones. Much like Linda, she is so versatile. I would love to see her in concert.

Sure looks like the reincarnation of Lena Horne. Uncanny.

She had a pretty big part on the TV show "Nashville" last season.

IMO (at least lol) this is the closest in terms of versatility and vocals(currently) we'll get to Linda. Just lovely..
