I'm not really sure Melissa Spencer will accomplish anything because just as bad as the R&RHoF's failure to nominate not only certain female performers but also many artists and bands considered fan favorites, the same R&RHoF also ignores fan petitions and any attempt to get their favorites nominated. The bands and artists and their fans are viewed with contempt and scorn by the hall and there's no way in hell they will allow the fans to dictate who they nominate and induct. Several years ago, fans of the Moody Blues started a petition to get that group nominated and inducted only to be met with a threat from the hall that wasn't sent to the fans directly, but to the group. The group was told if the fans didn't stop with the petitions, the Moodies would never be inducted. One had to wonder if they sent Rhino Records a similar message since that company also started a petition to get the Monkees a nomination. The first signer to Rhino's petition to get the Monkees a nod was a musical heavyweight and a member of the hall, Brian Wilson. One has to wonder if the Eagles, Jackson Browne, Neil Young and James Taylor all talk Linda up or anyone she has ever worked with who is in the hall? Of course, the hall being what the hall is, they're probably just as adept at ignoring artists supporting nominations for other artists. They're committed to the idea that no one is going to tell them what to do.
