I always wished this TV special for Snow White would have been included as a bonus feature on one of the bluray / DVD reissues of the movie - maybe Someday . . .

No. It was an NBC-TV special. To the best of my knowledge, no official release.

eddie, it aired in 1987. It was called something like “The Golden Anniversary of ‘Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs’ “ —

I remember hearing it playing at the mall back then. I think maybe it was recorded. Maybe on a soundtrack? Cos I heard it several times back then at that mall. They played pop music and various stuff there.i mean it must have been put out some kinda way to be on their playlist.

Linda, however, has recorded on official releases "When You Wish Upon a Star" from "Pinocchio" and "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes" (English and Spanish) on an all-star "Cinderella" release by Disney. But, as of this date, no official release of Linda Ronstadt's "Someday My Prince Will Come."

When a new management team had been put in place at the Mouse House Michael Eisner had never forgotten what Linda Ronstadt had said about Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs that this animated feature “Was one of the most brilliant pieces of art in the twentieth century”.Which is why in the fall of 1986 Eisner insisted that the Company reach out to Ronstadt when the Walt Disney Company was planning a year long celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the release of ‘Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs.Give Linda the opportunity to finally sing those songs that she’d been denied when the Mouse House previous management team had refused to award Joe Papp the rights to stage ‘Snow White’ in Central Park.Ronstadt readily agreed when Disney’s representatives reached out.More to the point, they really pulled out all the stops when it came to producing this portion of the ‘Snow White & Seven Dwarfs Golden Anniversary Special’ which aired on NBC on May 18th 1987.They actually shot this sequence after hours at Disneyland with Linda artfully posed by the wishing well in the Snow White Grotto as she sang Someday My Prince Will Come. And given how well that performance was received when Walt Disney Records wanted to put together a recording of the 50th Anniversary of the release of ‘Cinderella’ Linda was one of the very first performers they reached out to. And her performance of A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes is one of the true highlights of 2002’s The Music of Disney’s Cinderella.

I am a happy owner of that Cinderella CD! Linda's Snow White song is one I would buy any release it was on, to own it.
Linda being on The Muppet Show (& Sesame Street?) is now another Disney-owned release. Some Getty photos with Linda in have Disney Library connections I noticed.

Brendywendy, maybe you heard The Cinderella song at the mall? I remember I heard the song once on the radio. Can't remember the station or what was said about it/intro etc. I remember they had a huge Cinderella display in the front window of a record store. eddiejinnj

This song was released as promo single according to discogs in U.K. on cd on Walt Disney Records label 1995 in US with Spanish version Un Precioso Sueno on side 2.There was also a cassette promo single issued same year. One cd copy for sale on marketplace for £21.27. So this was probably how brendywendy heard it played at the mall.

Are you saying that "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes" was released as a single in the U.K. ? The track from the "Cinderella"? OR are you saying that "Someday My Prince Will Come" was released as a single with "Un Precioso Sueno" was the B-side? It gets confusing because people here same to be conflating one Disney song ("Someday My Prince Will Come") with another ("A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes"). Yes, both Disney. So is "Beauty and the Beast" and "Be My Guest" from "Beauty and the Beast," but Linda didn't sing those. I'll wait five minutes until someone digs that fact from discogs, too.

The Disney Cinderella CD has Linda singing Dream..Heart & Sueño, but no other Linda tracks. Dream..Heart is also on another Disney CD.
Someday..Prince has never had any release on any format, neither has the SW 50th anniversary episode AFAIK.

What I meant to say was that there was a promo of A Dream is a wish your heart makes/Un Precioso Sueno released as I stated in U.S. in 1995 & perhaps there was also a promo made of Someday My Prince Will Come which is how Brendywendy heard it.

What is so ironic about all this is that now...or more accurately, next year, in 2023...there will in fact be a live-action reimagining of Snow White coming out in cinemas. And guess who they've gotten to portray the title character?: Rachel Zegler, who just became a star from her scarifyingly beautiful performance as Maria in Steven Spielberg's reimagining of West Side Story.

Interesting Linda saying she acted Mabel as Snow White, & sees PoP as a cartoon (most G & S is, or pantomime). I have seen different Mabels, Linda's is the sweetest, often Mabel is acted with more sass.
Linda's Bo-Peep shepherdess in her "You Took Advantage of Me" video with Jim Carrey is very Disneyesque.
