Aired just before the 1980 Oscars, this was primetime TV at the height of Olivia's success, just after "Grease", with "Physical" yet
to come, and "Xanadu" about to make its theater premiere.

The show is a romp through a variety of sketches, with a musical highlight, the beautiful rendition of "Candle In the Wind", which
Olivia sings with Elton John.

Olivia is another woman who just doesn't get enough credit. I saw her perform in Phoenix several years back and she was awesome.

I saw Olivia in concert as well in 2004, which was a birthday present from my sister. Olivia was quite awesome though my one main gripe was the concert was an abbreviated version of concerts she gave in larger cities. She was only only on stage an hour but some of the concerts she gave in larger cities lasted two hours and I think I read somewhere that she did a three hour concert in Japan during that same year.

Incredibly, Olivia's concert here wasn't even properly advertised yet it was a sold out performance. She closed her main show with "Summer Nights," which I didn't get because artists typically closed their shows with their biggest number one, which for Olivia would've been "Physical" or "Magic." She encored with "I Honestly Love You" in a version that was better than the recorded version. On "Summer Nights," she asked the audience to sing along with her and chided them when most of them didn't. I almost yelled out "They don't know the words!" but decided I didn't want to give the impression that some of the people might not have known who she was - there were a few people there who looked totally out of place.

Some of the fans had birthday presents for her since her birthday was approaching. One of the fans gave her a picture frame with a newspaper review from when she appeared here in 1975. That sort of blew her mind because she did not remember that appearance. I recalled reading that for many performers and groups, touring the various cities is all one big blur. There was one performer I recalled reading about who thought he was in Atlanta, Georgia and he was instead in Toronto, Ontario. That's mind boggling but understandable, I guess.

Yeah, I got the long version of the concert. Actually it was the extra long version as she called her daughter up to sing a few songs with her. I never realized how strong a voice she had. I was impressed.

I got to see her around 1982 when she did her tour I was living in Louisiana then.
I live here in nashville area she was here a few weeks ago but I missed out did not know she was coming to nashville to sing for some benefit concert till it was too late.
I don't think there a web site for Olivia like there is here on Linda where you know what going on.
I think that one of the best part of this forum you do get to know what going on here on entertainment news and so on.
