Thank you so much, hubieg, for all of your efforts. eddiejinfl You are most welcome, Eddie! The list of shows the group here had assembled was already pretty amazing, and I am certainly enjoying researching these classic Linda tour dates.

She and the eagles as her band played in St Pete fl at the bay front center in 1971. I was still in school and was in love with her songs and only years later realized what a lucky kid I was to see her and my favorite band backing her up. She took a break and the guys sang a Jackson Browne song, I think it was take it easy.... acapella. It was a $0.95 ticket! A wynf 95 fm low dough show. I attended but does anyone out there remember the other bands? I know Elton and the Doobie bros also played that venue back in 1971 also. Thanks

Welcome to the forum, Mr. Harry L. Thanks for your input. Speaking of the Sunshine State, I got down here today to keep the place spiffy. We used to go to St Pete a lot but in the early 2000's. eddiejinfl

Linda's performance at The Palomino was really quite a pivotal one in terms of her career: ronstadt-linda.com/artlat71.htmFrom 1949 until it finally closed in 1995, The Palomino was arguably the country-and-western nightclub of its time. Located on Lankershim Boulevard in North Hollywood, out in the San Fernando Valley, it was very much the epicenter of California's C&W scene, hosting all the big names. Linda had known about "The Pal" pretty much while she growing up in Arizona; and with a large amount of her repertoire being in the C&W mode, she had wanted to perform there almost from the time she arrived in L.A. at the end of 1964. The only thing is, however, she wouldn't be allowed to even step foot in there because of California's laws about selling or serving liquor to anyone under the age of 21 (which Linda wouldn't reach until mid-July 1967). And in the late 1960's, "The Pal" was also known for having a clientele consisting largely of truckers, cowboys, ranchers, and farmers; and anyone with hair longer than a quarter of an inch was regarded with, how shall we say, more than a little suspicion. Even when Gram Parsons and his Flying Burrito Brothers began performing there in 1969, in their Nudie suits, they initially got heckled because of their long hair. Linda pretty much changed all of that with that first appearance, even if she expressed nervousness about being much more loose than most female country singers of the time. She made dozens more appearances there through 1974, and always sold the place out.
