Great poster. Nicolette was singing with Commander Cody in 1977. According to setlist, she sang at this show, including “Rhumba Girl” from her first album, released 1978. (Jesse Winchester wrote it as “Rhumba Man.”)

RobGNYC,thank you for letting me know.

Quote by linda2006nicci: I think Nicolette was only a backing singer and not an actual member of Commander Cody's outfit (she and Linda already knew one another by then, having sung on Neil Young's album American Stars 'N Bars). Also of course, the date of Linda's Rochester concert is significant in a very sad way.....

Linda was on the Dick Cavett show years ago. Anyone have a clip of her performance and interview? found something on it at the other ronstadt site but the year was 1970 and not 77? I didn't see it here in the 1970 concerts, performance and appearances. is that the one you are looking for? conservatism.freeforums.net/thread/5536/linda-ronstadt-rare-tv-appearancesIs the clip you saw from The Sound of My Voice?

I think Linda's appearance on Dick Cavett's show was in November 1970.

I think Linda's appearance on Dick Cavett's show was in November 1970. November 13, 1970, according to the “plex” app, which seems to have the episode (I didn’t download the app).

So I added more dates and ran into an issue. The Atlanta Consitiution ran a year end best of article Dec 24, 1977 and Linda won for her concerts at Atlanta's Civic Center. They ran the photo from what has always been listed as the concert from Dec 01 - Fox Theatre. It got me thinking. Is it possible that concert date/venue has been wrong all this time and the bootleg floating around is her concert on either Nov 3 or 4 at the Civic Center? The fact she did her last show Nov 18 and then nothing for two weeks and then just the one concert on Dec 01 has always made me scratch my head a little. Does anyone have confirmation? I will keep looking around to see what I can find.

So, I'd guess one or both of her November show(s) were featured on the bootleg. Further confirmation: The Dec 1, 1977, issue of the Atlanta Constitution mentions that the Fox Theatre was in danger of being demolished at that time and was eking by on money earned from smaller productions in the theatre. Obviously, a show by Linda would hardly qualify as a small production. The only event that week was an organ recital by Virgil Fox. So, I think you are safe saying that Linda played Nov 3-4, and not Dec 1, in Atlanta.

I've come across footage purportedly from both the Civic Center and Fox shows, where she appears in identical attire, boots, jewelry, and even the same flower in her hair. According to the documents of Alex Cooley and Peter Conlon at the University of Georgia library, Linda performed at the Civic Center only on November 3 and 4, 1977. Given that Cooley was the promoter for virtually all concerts in Georgia, his records are likely more reliable than any other source. sclfind.libs.uga.edu/sclfind/view?docId=ead/ms4038.xml&doc.view=print;chunk.id=
