www.nytimes.com/2012/04/27/arts/music/pete-fornatale-a-pioneer-of-fm-rock-dies-at-66.htmlPete Fornatale, long time beloved NY FM-radio DJ has passed away. I regularly listened to his Saturday afternoon broadcast "Mixed Bag" on WFUV (Fordham University). He was awesome and frequently played Linda songs and was obviously a big fan. His shows centered around a theme and he frequently included a Linda Ronstadt song which fit it. He often commented on how beautiful Linda's voice is. I will miss his broadcasts for a long time.

Growing up on Long Island there was nothing comparable to radio from "the City." My aunt from NYC gave me my first transistor radio in 1965 that was weak in the antenna but once the sun went down I picked up all of the NYC stations. Had to listen under the covers with the volume turned down for fear my parents would take it away from me. It was a magical box and a magical time.
There are lots of Pete Fornatale connected radio shows on youtube so he will always be with us.
An compilation of NY Radio DJ's from the 60's. I think the audio track was originally edited by Pete Fornatale (RIP).
