I certainly won't argue with these folks, since they know what they're doing better than a lot of the studios nowadays (LOL).
I especially will go with SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, ROSEMARY'S BABY, and LITTLE BIG MAN.

I guess they needed to put in a "Brat Pack" film of the 1980s before all of them started getting ready for The Home. But yes, that period of life was my teenage years--and I don't look back on them with any real fondness, at least not when it came to high school in the Decade Of Reagan.

The Pirates of Penzance movie was awful. It's a shame because the show was so fantastic!!

Well, to paraphrase Foghorn Leghorn (in reference to Goldie's post): "It's a joke, son."
In my opinion, I don't think The Pirates Of Penzance was an awful movie, though I will admit it's no masterpiece...not even with Linda in it.

I knew Goldie was being facetious but just offering my opinion about the film. I have a poor quality DVD of Pirates at the Delacorte which is still better than the movie because it's a live version of the show.

On the contrary I (and others) think it was a good movie. I have a friend who only knows of Linda through that movie that he watches often with his sons. When I saw it in the theatre there was non-stop laughing and applause at the end of the movie (not because it was over but because it was highly enjoyed). If you only saw it on the small screen you missed a lot because of the formatting. I am reminded that It's A Wonderful Life was touted as a bomb originally and now is one of the most loved movies of all time. I rarely read or pay attention to critics so they don't influence my thinking.
