Check out the web site, The Boot, a country music blog. There is an article about Linda Ronstadt and her battle with Parkinsons, and Linda talks about her increasing struggles with the disease. She jokes about what comes next (dying!!!) which just will break your heart.

Yes, that's pretty much what she said during the extended hour long interview that was posted here. I can't imagine her struggles with this.Linda is a trooper.

Linda's wise to deal with it in the way she does and not sink into a depression, even if some might find her approach somewhat morbid. It has always seemed to me the way she dealt with all the fame and attention she got for her music for so many decades, in not taking herself too seriously but at the same time making music the very reason she breathes. I have to admire her for that.

I'd hope she's as stoic privately as she is publicly, although I've noticed people with potentially life threatening illnesses often put on a brave face more for those around them than for themselves but away from others, they can be quite scared of what is happening to them. Still, it unnerves and saddens me to hear Linda talking about death and leads me to wonder if her health is more precarious than we know?
