I believe there were a song or two from the "Step Sisters" section of the What's New HBO Concert that were left out of the VHS release. Not to mention the wonderful rendition she finished her last encore of the evening with "Desperado" accompanied by only the great Don Grolnick on piano. This concert really does deserve the full DVD release with the lost cuts and hopefully a bonus or two.

Do we count songs from Faust by Randy Newman, or the Pirates of Penzance songs?

"I've Never Been In Love Before", on Linda's Hummin' To Myself, is from the 1950 musical Guys And Dolls.

I know this isn't a song from a musical per se, but the Oscar Hammerstein/Sigmund Romberg song "When I Grow Too Old To Dream" that Linda did in 1978 was first heard in the 1935 film THE NIGHT IS YOUNG.

I've Got a Crush on You -- by George and Ira Gershwin --appeared in two Gershwin musicals -- "Treasure Girl" and "Strike Up the Band"
Someone to Watch Over Me -- by George and Ira Gershwin-- "Oh, Kay!"
It Never Entered My Mind -- Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart -- "Higher and Higher"
You Took Advantage of Me -- Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart -- "Present Arms"
Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered -- Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart -- "Pal Joey"
But Not for Me -- George and Ira Gershwin -- "Girl Crazy"
What'll I Do? -- Irving Berlin -- Irving Berlin's Third Music Box Revue
My Funny Valentine -- Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart -- "Babes in Arms"
Little Girl Blue -- Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart -- "Jumbo"
They Can't Take That Away From Me -- George and Ira Gershwin --
Our Love Is Here to Stay -- George and Ira Gershwin --
From Disney Films:
When You Wish Upon a Star -- "Pinocchio"
A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes -- "Cinderella"
------------
In my quick research, it appears that Miss Otis Regrets by Cole Porter was written as a popular song not for musical. The same seems to have been true for When I Grow Too Old to Dream by Sigmund Romberg and Oscar Hammerstein II.

My computer is in shop so doing this from iPhone. Thought I could edit my last post but that is not an option on the mobile platform.
They Can't Take That Away From Me -- George and Ira Gershwin -- "Shall We Dance" (Astaire/Rogers film)
Our Love Is Here to Stay -- George and Ira Gershwin -- The Goldwyn Follies
Get Outta Town -- Cole Porter -- "Leave It to Me!" -------
As for "Ain't Misbehavin'," it was a "jukebox musical" cobbled together after Fats Waller died. If Linda had recorded Big Girls Don't Cry by The Four Seasons, while it was in "Jersey Boys," I wouldn't say Linda recorded it because of "Jersey Boys." I'd be willing to bet Linda was aware of the song "Keepin' Out of Mischief Now" long before "Ain't Misbehavin ." The song had been a standard for decades before it was used in "Ain't Misbehavin' "

Another one to consider:
Time Flies -- music by Jimmy Webb, lyrics by Jimmy Webb and Ray Bradbury -- "Dandelion Wine" (It is a written musical even if it hasn't been staged for a Broadway theater)

Another consideration --
Disney --
Someday My Prince Will Come -- written for "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" Linda recorded this and then lip-synched to the track on a a Disney special from The Magic Kingdom in the mid-'80s.
(Although this thread is titled "songs RECORDED," early on Erik brought up the set of songs Linda sang live with the Step Sisters during the "What's New?" Concert so I figured songs that Linda sang live for which we have audio/video count, too.) Some time back here someone posted links to audience-recorded audio of Linda performing a different concert of standards in Lake Tahoe. "Over the Rainbow" from "The Wizard of Oz" was among the songs in her set.

what do people think of "I've never been in love before" and "daydream." there is like one note in each am not sure about but then I play what others have recorded and she is better than them. in the former it is when she sings "but this is wine that's all" wine is a strange note but she consistently does it so it seems (as it is always remarkable to me) that she hits the same key every time the refrain is played. both songs seem to have one part where there is belting or a little more emphasis than one would expect. thoughts? there are parts of each songs that are brilliant. it also maybe that I don't like the song daydream as much as others. eddiejinnj

Funny you should mention those two songs, Eddie. They've always been problematic for me, as much as I like that album.
Putting all issues of the state of Linda's voice during the recording of that album (which is putting aside a lot), still, she delivers some marvelous vocals and notes on that record, so I don't understand her choices at times, especially -- actually, almost exclusively -- on those two songs, for the same reasons you give.
Especially Daydream, where the song seems to dictate a softer, less belting approach, which Linda gives -- most of the time. Those few instances when she belts breaks the daydreamy tone of the piece, a tone the combo keeps to (especially the brush work).
But, like you said, she consistently does this on the same words/lines, so there must have been an artistic/interpretive reason for it, knowing Linda to be the consummate pro she is. Maybe I just haven't figured it out yet...

I guess she might have wanted to in daydream show how she could change octaves so quickly which many singers can't. mostly it works well for her(especially in songs such as down so low and el crucifijo). heartbeats accelerating is another example of this. it does seem that Linda's voice is so powerful there are times and hey given her plethora of work compared to other singers I give her slack where she can be too powerful. her power on we ran live was one of the most significant highlights of seeing her live. she just kicked *** that night!!!!! eddiejinnj

I saw her sing Daydream with the LA Gay Mens Chorus a few years ago, the only time I have seen her live. This version was wonderful - the swell of the male voices in the background really enhanced the song over the version on the CD.
I too feel the same about I've Never Been In Love Before ..... I think her voice is a little harsh when she belts "wine"but honestly I'm not a great fan of this song by anyone other than Chet Baker.

I am not trying to be critical because it is not out of tune but the note seems out of context with the rest of the lyrics around it. her voice becomes soft right after that note. my partner who became a linda fan by osmosis loves this album. maybe more than I do (just kidding). eddiejinnj

I think that is the issue for me also. I really don't like those songs as much as other standards she has recorded. linda tried to jazz them up so to speak pun intended and I give her credit for the effort. eddiejinnj

On the other hand, "Tell Him I Said Hello", "Miss Otis Regrets", "I'll Be Seeing You", "Hummin' to Myself" and "Never Will I Marry" are gems.
