Eric and I have long been a proponent of this very talented singer songwriter.. and she never seems to disappoint.. here is a gorgeous country ballad which can stand among the classics and makes the current dreck out of Nashville seem ever lamer:

Yes, it's really wonderful to hear this from Tift--and equally as embarrassing to hear the kind of corporate, faux-country (or bad rock and roll) that's emanating from Music Row. Tift is of the "old school" (Linda/Emmy), which, in my book, is a good thing.

Over at the Yahoo Goddesses Of Rock And Pop group site, Tift won the Album Of The Year award three years running: in 2008 for Another Country; in 2009 for the live, acoustic Buckingham Solo; and in 2010 for See You On The Moon. For my money, I think she is the best female singer to come along in this century in any genre.
