For anyone who is interested. This video shows how this man renovated his kitchen to a functional 1950's kitchen.. all original appliances. I love it! I admire his determination and the music is pretty good too. !

I wonder how he will get parts to repair when needed?
Turquoise is big in the Southwest and is also one of the most difficult colors of all to try to coordinate in a scheme.

It would be very difficult to find parts for older appliances and probably costly to keep maintained.. even for a professional, I imagine. but he did it. I know there is a company who manufactures new appliances made to look retro in those great colors but they are expensive.. I'd prefer to go that route. As for turquoise and mid century modern, I love it.. turquoise or aqua looks good when coordinated with other colors during that time period, red, yellows, oranges and greens, but the stuff has to fit that time period.. real cute.. also for turquoise colors more of the southwest or mission style we see in az , new mex ect it can work in kitchens (not so much the appliances) but with tile and paint.. pictures and even pottery, mexican crosses on the walls.. where it looks beautiful too.

Remember Avocado, Harvest Gold, and Bronze/Copper appliances from the 70s? What were our parents thinking?

Hmmm.... I have an avocado stove/range and kitchen sink that I love. I put in a Mexican tile floor and they look great together. Green and many of its shades are my favorite color.
