Linda's memoir is released, She gets inducted to the Rock and Roll bla bla bla, and PBS airs a 3 hour special on immigration and the history of the border between Mexico and the United States that ends with and hour long segment on the Ronstadt family history, a family caught in the middle. She releases americana album that features Ann Savoy, Emmylou Harris, Rosanne Cash, Trisha Yearwood, and Raul Malo, Buddy and Julie Miller produced by T-Bone-Burnett, not marketed as duet album though, they would be listed as backing musicans...it becomes a hit, sells half a million or more. It wins Best Americana Album at the Grammys and Kennedy Center Honors her.

hell, while I'm at it; the americana album is also nominated for ALBUM OF THE YEAR at the Grammy Awards and it WINS being the dark horse in the race. All this on the 40th Anniversary of Heart Like A Wheel going to number 1. She is on the cover of Rolling Stone one last time.

Her final curtain call, she can retire for the last time. Going out with the glory she so deserves I have no doubt a good manager could make this happen if she was willing and went along with it.

I would like a Kennedy Center Honor much more than a RRHOF induction - much classier:)

That would really be awesome! I'm not sure if a RRHOF induction will happen, but a Kennedy Center honor is actually very realistic. I could see that happen and would not rule it out. It may not happen this year but eventually it will. I just hope Linda receives these honors while she can still enjoy them. They are so long overdue.......and that's an understatement. As for recording another album.......I would love nothing more than to see that. Hopefully she would promote it with some shows. I never had a chance to see Linda in concert, so it would be a dream come true for me.
It is sad that Linda has retired. Although, I think she may exaggerate it some. I'm sure her voice is still incredible to us, but may not be up to her standard. She is a perfectionist musically. If she does indeed never record or perform again, I'm hoping that she uses her speaking voice now to share her gifts with us. She is extremely intelligent, a great speaker, and the perfect advocate for the arts and music education. She's also very concerned about the illegal immigration issue. Maybe she will write another book after her memoir. Who knows?

My add to this thread would be one last concert. A two hour show retrospective of her entire career: from The Stone Poneys to Adieu.

My add to this thread would be one last concert. A two hour show retrospective of her entire career: from The Stone Poneys to Adieu. That would be fantastic! We'd have to go to that concert together. We sure can relate to each other on this. I sometimes feel like I've been so deprived of such wonderful music and such a magnificent voice. I guess we just have to appreciate what we have of Linda. We do have all of her music to enjoy.....to last us the rest of our lives. And I do have some DVDs of some of her concerts. They are available online, on ebay and a couple other sites. It's the next best thing to actually seeing her in concert. Something else I would love to see......a documentary on Linda's four-decade career. Much like the documentary on the Eagles.....only without all of the negative aspects of the music business, which Linda thankfully avoided. That would be a great tribute to not only one of the greatest female singers of all time, but also to a sweet, wonderful, classy lady.

We know the Clintons are fans. I don't know who picks the honorees for the Kennedy Cenetr but perhaps they might have some influence. Maybe we need a letter writing campaign?
