Looks like it is a size to large for Nicolette, my guess is yes, that is Linda's dress.

yes, it does look like the one Linda wore in the video.. and I love that song btw.. I knew you when.. so pretty... boy, as a performing artist you would think being seen in the same dress or worse somebody else's hand me down would be something she'd avoid...

Well, they were roommates for quite a while so it would be natural for them to share.

It always seemed to me that Nicolette really didn't have a whole lot of money. She wore that gypsy outfit into the ground and I remember her stating on The Merv Griffin Show when he asked her if she could afford to take her band out on the road and she replied, "I can't even afford this!" (referring to paying the guys for the TV appearance).

I think Valerie Carter may have had the same problem. Also very talented.

This version of I Knew You When is live and has the same dress. PS- The last 25 seconds are thrilling and where the studio recording cut off. A real WOW!

Yes, it is thrilling! Linda sang this song on the Get Closer tour and ended it exactly like this. Her Pirates training really payed off!

Linda must have been, among other things, the fashion guru to the stars who really didn't want to look like stars (LOL).

Linda must have been, among other things, the fashion guru to the stars who really didn't want to look like stars (LOL). That's what I think too. Personally, it almost seems like Linda dressed up and bought new clothes because she perhaps felt she had to look good on stage.. and I wouldn't blame her. like there wasn't a whole lot of effort involved there.. For some artists they take those kinds of things very serious as it is part of who they are as an artist.

I always felt that while Linda realized it was just good sense to look (as well as sound) good onstage, beyond that, she found it abhorrent to swath herself in stuff like Gucci or what we call in our modern age "bling", let alone "see-through" dresses. In fact, I think that's another facet that Linda bought to the table, not only in her immediate circle but also to the many others she influenced beyond it.

well, Erik. compared to today's standards Linda was very conservative on stage.. but even when she did show a little skin. lol.. it was never coming from a vulgar place.. she could try but it wouldn't work.. .. she's a maryann and not a ginger

MaryAnn is the kind of girl you want to marry. Ginger is the kind of girl you want to .... If Raquel Welch had won her audition for the part of Mary Ann that might have been a tougher call...

Quote by Dianna:
And Linda is a naturally shy person, which I think had a lot to do with her conservative stage dresses. By that same token, however, that shyness was (and still is) very real and honest, which I feel contributes to her popularity and influence. She may not be the most flashy or charismatic of stage performers, but she doesn't have to be to be influential or popular (IMHO).

Right Erik. She doesn't have to be influential or popular...because she already IS!

What fascinates me about some artists... some of them, in this case Linda have a shy personality.. I know in the past Linda has suffered from stage fright and it took some time before she became more comfortable adjusting ( even telling stories to her audience on stage) to being the center of attention. It must have been very difficult to get into another character and perform in front of hundreds or thousands of people.. maybe this came with her early beginnings. singing at home in front of family and friends gave her confidence.. but I do find that many performing artists claim that they are actually shy by nature.
