Paul Simon is putting together a reunion with all the original musicians who played on Graceland, wonder if he'll get Linda back on stage? My understanding upon reading the following post on "The Second Disc" blog was that there were going to be two reissues of "Graceland," one a bit more deluxe than the other... And in reading the post again, it makes it sound as though this documentary (which will be shown very soon at the Sundance Film Festival) is already completed and that it follows Paul Simon as he is about to ready a reunion concert. Don't remember hearing/reading anything about Linda taking part. theseconddisc.com/2012/01/17/all-around-the-world-or-the-myth-of-graceland-revisited-simon-classic-to-be-expanded-documentary-due/

Since the song Under African Skies is in part about Linda Ronstadt I don't see how they "not" include her in some fashion.

It'll all depend on whether or not Linda really want to (IMHO). Simon took some heat for having her on "Under African Skies" because she played Sun City when it was a UN No-No back in '83.

He got heat for everything about that album. That won't stop Paul Simon. It is a non-issue except for those that want to use it against him or Linda because they need a cover excuse to cut them down.

Erik, according to the post by "Guest," the link says -- " Recorded in South Africa, the initial recording sessions led to accusations that Paul Simon had broken a UN cultural boycott which was designed to aid the end of the Apartheid regime. " And, if you read the link I posted in my first post in this thread from The Second Disc it does make mention of the controversy that followed Paul Simon. There are also comments from posters on The Second Disc blog taking him to task, and, others, like myself, who find "Graceland" to be a brilliant album -- enjoyable from first to last track.

"Under African Skies," the documentary, will be shown four times next week at the Sundance Film Festival. filmguide.sundance.org/film/120105/under_african_skiesHere is a little bit from the description of the completed documentary -- "On the occasion of the twenty-fifth anniversary of Graceland’s release, Simon returns to South Africa for a reunion concert that unearths the turbulent birth of the album. " I think that IF Linda had taken part in this reunion concert in 2011, we would have heard about it and it would have been posted here.

The concert took place here, johannesburg, a few months ago. Linda wasn't involved. I love "under african skies" her voice is exceptional. when i first played it for a friend, they said that's so beautiful. what choir is singing with him. They couldn't believe it was one person.
