It's a shame then that "Rambler Gambler" stalled out at #42 on the Billboard C&W chart.
A bit of trivia re. "How Do I Make You"--it debuted on the Hot 100 at #68 on February 2nd; and by the following week, it had jumped a jaw-dropping thirty-three spots up to #35. This matches the move that "Different Drum" had made, from its second week (November 18, 1967) on the Hot 100 at #87. to #54 in its third week (November 25, 1967), in terms of the biggest moves upward of Linda's Hot 100 hits. As such, it further befuddles the mind that "How Do I Make Yiy" didn't at least get into the Top Five, let alone #1, rather than stall out at #10 (IMHO).

The combination of sales and airplay could be the reason. It seemed to me that Linda's chart positions were more due to sales then high radio airplay overall. Radio airplay caused both "Somewhere Out There" and "Don't Know Much" to stay at number 2 vs number 1. These are 2 examples. eddiejinnj
