I'm a regular viewer. I would rather have had a fresh new face that I've never seen before. At least they did not drag this out for a year; I suppose I'll get used to him even though my natural tendency is to avoid him.

How much money and exposure does one person need?

It wasn’t that long ago that Ryan Seacrest left his morning talk show gig with Kelly Ripa. That is based in New York. “American Idol” is based in L.A., and “Wheel” is taped in Culver City. I imagine Seacrest knows he can host “Wheel” for many years. I just have this feeling that when Seacrest comes in as host that there might be other changes to the format. We’ll see.

I just have this feeling that when Seacrest comes in as host that there might be other changes to the format. We’ll see. I'm thinking no Vanna (letters will turn automagically) and there will be some role for Maggie Sajak. Tony, I have wondered about this. Last night on ABC's news program with David Muir, he had a segment about Seacrest replacing Sajak. He added that "negotiations are under way for Vanna White to remain with the program." I am thinking this could go two ways: 1) the producers are aware that the audience for "Wheel of Fortune" skews to an older demographic that doesn't like change. Therefore, what they may do is have Seacrest be the only thing that changes to make for an easier transition for the audience, leaving Vanna in her usual role. OR 2) As long as Seacrest and his perhaps younger audience may tune in, they may try to jazz it up a little. A friend did say to me that he thought that Vanna White would leave when Sajak leaves. Tony, I agree that Pat Sajak may have negotiated through his agency representation to have Maggie Sajak stay on "Wheel" in some fashion. Nepo babies. With Alex Trebek's passing, despite a bumpy start with that Mike Richards' debacle, I am settled in to having Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik as rotating hosts. It's about the game. On Stephanie Ruhle's program last night she did a segment about it. She said during the 1980s, 40 million people would tune in to watch "Wheel" on any given weekday night. How times have changed. She also said that people are wondering why someone with as much money as Seacrest has and as many jobs he has would take on this job. She said that hosting a game show is one of the most coveted jobs in the entertainment industry because the host works two, maybe three days each month. And that's it.

Am seeing reports online that Vanna is in contract talks and she wants a $4 million-per-year raise. The articles say that she hasn’t had a raise in 18 years.
