Usually I miss these Sirius polls, but I noticed this one. Vote for the Top ’70s Female VocalistsThey had a poll a while back where listeners voted on their favorite '60s female vocalists. Linda finished #9 in that countdown, which surprised me, because she only had 1 bona fide hit during the '60s, and it was not really marketed with her name.

Strange poll, mixing solo and groups (all of the Pointer Sisters, the post-Diana Supremes).

I think Linda would get better odds if she were the only one I voted for so I didn't pick another 9 women.
Who else did anyone here vote for in addition to Linda?

I expected Donna Summer to be Top 3. I didn't expect to see Rita Coolidge on the list.

They have some groups mixed in like Fleetwood Mac and Fifth Dimension. That's weird on a poll about female vocalists.

It pretty spot on but I would have Linda Number One or tie with Karen Carpenter. Fleetwood Mac has 2 females singers . It isn't fair to include that way (and also, The Fifth Dimension as Pop says). Carly is higher up than I thought; given Donna kicked bu** the last half of the 70's.

No Buffy Sainte-Marie, not even Joan Baez.

I hope I got these names correct. What confuses me is that both in the intro and in the extro ('zat a word?) the announcer mentions Linda Ronstadt and Joni Mitchell. But I did not hear Joni Mitchell in the countdown.
For those that want to hear this, it is being repeated on the Seventies Channel, and it is available to stream on the Sirius website-- just go to the '70s page on siriusxm.com --
I recorded the show (approximately 139 MB) if anyone wants me to send it.
