Linda will be on in a few minutes central time.
…the end got the tears going. Beware. “I can still remember, yeah” broke me up after she said she can no longer do it, and now can no longer hear it on record. What she has left is her memory of it. She still has that, I pray she never losses that.

Between the Bob Lefsetz podcast interview and this one on CBS Sunday Morning, I have very mixed feelings going on. On the one hand, it is good to know that Linda is showing the same kind of stoicism in confronting her condition that she has shown with everything else in her life. On the other hand, it is sad to see her talk about losing at least half of her hearing and the ability to listen to much of anything in terms of music, be it hers or anyone else's.
I hope I don't sound morbid in saying this. It's just that the things life gives us when we're young are the very things it slowly starts taking away from us when we get up there in years; and for Linda, that seems to be happening tragically all too fast.

We need to keep in mind with these parkison like conditions, symptoms can be better or worse on any given moment of the day. The more stressed and tired the patient the more the symptoms get more obvious. After a good rest they improve. It was very obvious during that Interview she just did for an hour on the phone where she mention abortion, at the start of the interview Linda sound pretty darn good, I was actually surprised how good she sounded, but by the end of it she even apologized for her voice starting to give out, by the end of the interview I struggled to hear and understand her. By then she needed some rest. This CBS Sunday Morning interview today you could tell she went into it fatigued more than some of the other recent ones. All in all, I think Linda done pretty well. I say this after watching my sister die from a very similar condition, my sister and Linda were diagnosed around the same time. My sister made it 3.5 years. Linda is going on ten and on her good days she does very well and looks great, when she is more fatigued it’s obvious, she shakes, you see it in her eyes and you can hear it for sure in her speech and how long it takes to gather her thoughts. I think all these interviews wear her down. When she is doing well I am actually shocked at how good she looks and sound and moves. When she seems worn down not at her best, take comfort in knowing once she gets a good rest and meal in her she will improve. It will always be progressing but she can still have better days than others. So when we see Linda not at her best, don’t got to the worst, the next day she could be a whole lot better. We can try and take comfort from that. I am positive she has a great support system that keep very close attentive eye and care on her. She is much loved by those around her that is very clear to me at least. I hope these interviews and press start to wind down and she can go into the holidays rested and at her best for he loved ones and herself. We are VERY lucky to have Linda still with her sharp mind and humor. I hope and pray I can at least be half as gracious and brave as Linda has been if I am ever in her position health wise.

I thought that was pretty scary to watch this time. I saw it this afternoon before my wife Sue came home. Sue is in the early stages of it. She is walking with a cane or with a walker and other symptoms come and go. She is nowhere near where Linda is. When she came home and watched it she, like me, was very concerned for her. But she also said that she had a bad reaction for other reasons which was obvious. We had to watch it but we aren't glad we did. It is tough enough to suffer through this but another to have to make these appearances. Her well known honesty, bravery, and bluntness were there for all to see.

The contrast between past and present is so hard to watch. It really seems like two completely different people. Of course, we all change with age, but Linda was so vibrant and animated in her youth, so it's difficult to come to terms with the deficits and lack of affect resulting from her condition.

Thank you MokyWI for the notification, I would have missed it otherwise. For me, the segment emphasized that someone (Rhino?) should release a complete official DVD of the Atlanta December 1, 1977, show. Not sure I've ever seen Linda so relaxed on stage--she actually seems to be enjoying herself for a change. She was at the top of her game (even though she thinks that she didn't learn how to sing until 1980)--that week, Simple Dreams finally knocked Rumours out of the #1 spot on the Billboard album chart after nine weeks at #2, and she was making chart history with "Blue Bayou" and "It's So Easy" both in the Top 10. I love "You southern women are low-down gamblers" in "Tumbling Dice," and maybe my favorite moment--Waddy's guitar strap unfastens during "You're No Good" and Linda fixes it while he's still playing.

I agree that it’s heartbreaking to watch how this condition is ravaging Linda, but she is a fighter and I think doing remarkably well under the circumstances. Agree that she probably has good and bad days but I’m thankful that she is still with us and being visible and vocal.
Rich / beatle - best wishes to you and your wife.

I have had to learn to be careful and aware of it with her.

Her Voice was ALWAYS...Pure Open Honesty......her Voice is STILL Pure Open Honesty as we reflect visually....at ourselves...and our own Mortality.......before we lusted and championed our collective Youth...now the grace of time and reflection...leave it to each of us...to reflect
